Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; |
1 παῦλος δοῦλος θεοῦ, ἀπόστολος δὲ ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ κατὰ πίστιν ἐκλεκτῶν θεοῦ καὶ ἐπίγνωσιν ἀληθείας τῆς κατ᾽ εὐσέβειαν |
| 1:2 en la esperanza de la vida eterna, la cual Dios, que no miente, prometió desde antes del principio de los siglos, |
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; |
2 ἐπ᾽ ἐλπίδι ζωῆς αἰωνίου, ἣν ἐπηγγείλατο ὁ ἀψευδὴς θεὸς πρὸ χρόνων αἰωνίων, |
| 1:3 y a su debido tiempo manifestó su palabra por medio de la predicación que me fue encomendada por mandato de Dios nuestro Salvador, |
But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; |
3 ἐφανέρωσεν δὲ καιροῖς ἰδίοις τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ ἐν κηρύγματι ὃ ἐπιστεύθην ἐγὼ κατ᾽ ἐπιταγὴν τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν θεοῦ, |
| 1:4 a Tito, verdadero hijo en la común fe: Gracia, misericordia y paz, de Dios Padre y del Señor Jesucristo nuestro Salvador. |
To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. |
4 τίτῳ γνησίῳ τέκνῳ κατὰ κοινὴν πίστιν· χάρις καὶ εἰρήνη ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς καὶ χριστοῦ ἰησοῦ τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν. |
| 1:5 Por esta causa te dejé en Creta, para que corrigieses lo deficiente, y establecieses ancianos en cada ciudad, así como yo te mandé; |
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: |
5 τούτου χάριν ἀπέλιπόν σε ἐν κρήτῃ, ἵνα τὰ λείποντα ἐπιδιορθώσῃ καὶ καταστήσῃς κατὰ πόλιν πρεσβυτέρους, ὡς ἐγώ σοι διεταξάμην, |
| 1:6 el que fuere irreprensible, marido de una sola mujer, y tenga hijos creyentes que no estén acusados de disolución ni de rebeldía. |
If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. |
6 εἴ τίς ἐστιν ἀνέγκλητος, μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἀνήρ, τέκνα ἔχων πιστά, μὴ ἐν κατηγορίᾳ ἀσωτίας ἢ ἀνυπότακτα. |
| 1:7 Porque es necesario que el obispo sea irreprensible, como administrador de Dios; no soberbio, no iracundo, no dado al vino, no pendenciero, no codicioso de ganancias deshonestas, |
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; |
7 δεῖ γὰρ τὸν ἐπίσκοπον ἀνέγκλητον εἶναι ὡς θεοῦ οἰκονόμον, μὴ αὐθάδη, μὴ ὀργίλον, μὴ πάροινον, μὴ πλήκτην, μὴ αἰσχροκερδῆ, |
| 1:8 sino hospedador, amante de lo bueno, sobrio, justo, santo, dueño de sí mismo, |
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; |
8 ἀλλὰ φιλόξενον, φιλάγαθον, σώφρονα, δίκαιον, ὅσιον, ἐγκρατῆ, |
| 1:9 retenedor de la palabra fiel tal como ha sido enseñada, para que también pueda exhortar con sana enseñanza y convencer a los que contradicen. |
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. |
9 ἀντεχόμενον τοῦ κατὰ τὴν διδαχὴν πιστοῦ λόγου, ἵνα δυνατὸς ᾖ καὶ παρακαλεῖν ἐν τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ τῇ ὑγιαινούσῃ καὶ τοὺς ἀντιλέγοντας ἐλέγχειν. |
| 1:10 Porque hay aún muchos contumaces, habladores de vanidades y engañadores, mayormente los de la circuncisión, |
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: |
10 εἰσὶν γὰρ πολλοὶ καὶ ἀνυπότακτοι, ματαιολόγοι καὶ φρεναπάται, μάλιστα οἱ ἐκ τῆς περιτομῆς, |
| 1:11 a los cuales es preciso tapar la boca; que trastornan casas enteras, enseñando por ganancia deshonesta lo que no conviene. |
Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake. |
11 οὓς δεῖ ἐπιστομίζειν, οἵτινες ὅλους οἴκους ἀνατρέπουσιν διδάσκοντες ἃ μὴ δεῖ αἰσχροῦ κέρδους χάριν. |
| 1:12 Uno de ellos, su propio profeta, dijo: Los cretenses, siempre mentirosos, malas bestias, glotones ociosos. |
One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. |
12 εἶπέν τις ἐξ αὐτῶν, ἴδιος αὐτῶν προφήτης, κρῆτες ἀεὶ ψεῦσται, κακὰ θηρία, γαστέρες ἀργαί. |
| 1:13 Este testimonio es verdadero; por tanto, repréndelos duramente, para que sean sanos en la fe, |
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; |
13 ἡ μαρτυρία αὕτη ἐστὶν ἀληθής. δι᾽ ἣν αἰτίαν ἔλεγχε αὐτοὺς ἀποτόμως, ἵνα ὑγιαίνωσιν ἐν τῇ πίστει, |
| 1:14 no atendiendo a fábulas judaicas, ni a mandamientos de hombres que se apartan de la verdad. |
Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. |
14 μὴ προσέχοντες ἰουδαϊκοῖς μύθοις καὶ ἐντολαῖς ἀνθρώπων ἀποστρεφομένων τὴν ἀλήθειαν. |
| 1:15 Todas las cosas son puras para los puros, mas para los corrompidos e incrédulos nada les es puro; pues hasta su mente y su conciencia están corrompidas. |
Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. |
15 πάντα καθαρὰ τοῖς καθαροῖς· τοῖς δὲ μεμιαμμένοις καὶ ἀπίστοις οὐδὲν καθαρόν, ἀλλὰ μεμίανται αὐτῶν καὶ ὁ νοῦς καὶ ἡ συνείδησις. |
| 1:16 Profesan conocer a Dios, pero con los hechos lo niegan, siendo abominables y rebeldes, reprobados en cuanto a toda buena obra. |
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. |
16 θεὸν ὁμολογοῦσιν εἰδέναι, τοῖς δὲ ἔργοις ἀρνοῦνται, βδελυκτοὶ ὄντες καὶ ἀπειθεῖς καὶ πρὸς πᾶν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἀδόκιμοι. |
| 2:1 Pero tú habla lo que está de acuerdo con la sana doctrina. |
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: |
1 σὺ δὲ λάλει ἃ πρέπει τῇ ὑγιαινούσῃ διδασκαλίᾳ. |
| 2:2 Que los ancianos sean sobrios, serios, prudentes, sanos en la fe, en el amor, en la paciencia. |
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. |
2 πρεσβύτας νηφαλίους εἶναι, σεμνούς, σώφρονας, ὑγιαίνοντας τῇ πίστει, τῇ ἀγάπῃ, τῇ ὑπομονῇ. |
| 2:3 Las ancianas asimismo sean reverentes en su porte; no calumniadoras, no esclavas del vino, maestras del bien; |
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; |
3 πρεσβύτιδας ὡσαύτως ἐν καταστήματι ἱεροπρεπεῖς, μὴ διαβόλους μηδὲ οἴνῳ πολλῶ δεδουλωμένας, καλοδιδασκάλους, |
| 2:4 que enseñen a las mujeres jóvenes a amar a sus maridos y a sus hijos, |
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, |
4 ἵνα σωφρονίζωσιν τὰς νέας φιλάνδρους εἶναι, φιλοτέκνους, |
| 2:5 a ser prudentes, castas, cuidadosas de su casa, buenas, sujetas a sus maridos, para que la palabra de Dios no sea blasfemada. |
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. |
5 σώφρονας, ἁγνάς, οἰκουργούς ἀγαθάς, ὑποτασσομένας τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν, ἵνα μὴ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ βλασφημῆται. |
| 2:6 Exhorta asimismo a los jóvenes a que sean prudentes; |
Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. |
6 τοὺς νεωτέρους ὡσαύτως παρακάλει σωφρονεῖν· |
| 2:7 presentándote tú en todo como ejemplo de buenas obras; en la enseñanza mostrando integridad, seriedad, |
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, |
7 περὶ πάντα σεαυτὸν παρεχόμενος τύπον καλῶν ἔργων, ἐν τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ ἀφθορίαν, σεμνότητα, |
| 2:8 palabra sana e irreprochable, de modo que el adversario se avergüence, y no tenga nada malo que decir de vosotros. |
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. |
8 λόγον ὑγιῆ ἀκατάγνωστον, ἵνα ὁ ἐξ ἐναντίας ἐντραπῇ μηδὲν ἔχων λέγειν περὶ ἡμῶν φαῦλον. |
| 2:9 Exhorta a los siervos a que se sujeten a sus amos, que agraden en todo, que no sean respondones; |
Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; |
9 δούλους ἰδίοις δεσπόταις ὑποτάσσεσθαι ἐν πᾶσιν, εὐαρέστους εἶναι, μὴ ἀντιλέγοντας, |
| 2:10 no defraudando, sino mostrándose fieles en todo, para que en todo adornen la doctrina de Dios nuestro Salvador. |
Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. |
10 μὴ νοσφιζομένους, ἀλλὰ πᾶσαν πίστιν ἐνδεικνυμένους ἀγαθήν, ἵνα τὴν διδασκαλίαν τὴν τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν θεοῦ κοσμῶσιν ἐν πᾶσιν. |
| 2:11 Porque la gracia de Dios se ha manifestado para salvación a todos los hombres, |
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, |
11 ἐπεφάνη γὰρ ἡ χάρις τοῦ θεοῦ σωτήριος πᾶσιν ἀνθρώποις, |
| 2:12 enseñándonos que, renunciando a la impiedad y a los deseos mundanos, vivamos en este siglo sobria, justa y piadosamente, |
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; |
12 παιδεύουσα ἡμᾶς ἵνα ἀρνησάμενοι τὴν ἀσέβειαν καὶ τὰς κοσμικὰς ἐπιθυμίας σωφρόνως καὶ δικαίως καὶ εὐσεβῶς ζήσωμεν ἐν τῶ νῦν αἰῶνι, |
| 2:13 aguardando la esperanza bienaventurada y la manifestación gloriosa de nuestro gran Dios y Salvador Jesucristo, |
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; |
13 προσδεχόμενοι τὴν μακαρίαν ἐλπίδα καὶ ἐπιφάνειαν τῆς δόξης τοῦ μεγάλου θεοῦ καὶ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ, |
| 2:14 quien se dio a sí mismo por nosotros para redimirnos de toda iniquidad y purificar para sí un pueblo propio, celoso de buenas obras. |
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. |
14 ὃς ἔδωκεν ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν ἵνα λυτρώσηται ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ πάσης ἀνομίας καὶ καθαρίσῃ ἑαυτῶ λαὸν περιούσιον, ζηλωτὴν καλῶν ἔργων. |
| 2:15 Esto habla, y exhorta y reprende con toda autoridad. Nadie te menosprecie. |
These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. |
15 ταῦτα λάλει καὶ παρακάλει καὶ ἔλεγχε μετὰ πάσης ἐπιταγῆς· μηδείς σου περιφρονείτω. |
| 3:1 Recuérdales que se sujeten a los gobernantes y autoridades, que obedezcan, que estén dispuestos a toda buena obra. |
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, |
1 ὑπομίμνῃσκε αὐτοὺς ἀρχαῖς ἐξουσίαις ὑποτάσσεσθαι, πειθαρχεῖν, πρὸς πᾶν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἑτοίμους εἶναι, |
| 3:2 Que a nadie difamen, que no sean pendencieros, sino amables, mostrando toda mansedumbre para con todos los hombres. |
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. |
2 μηδένα βλασφημεῖν, ἀμάχους εἶναι, ἐπιεικεῖς, πᾶσαν ἐνδεικνυμένους πραΰτητα πρὸς πάντας ἀνθρώπους. |
| 3:3 Porque nosotros también éramos en otro tiempo insensatos, rebeldes, extraviados, esclavos de concupiscencias y deleites diversos, viviendo en malicia y envidia, aborrecibles, y aborreciéndonos unos a otros. |
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. |
3 ἦμεν γάρ ποτε καὶ ἡμεῖς ἀνόητοι, ἀπειθεῖς, πλανώμενοι, δουλεύοντες ἐπιθυμίαις καὶ ἡδοναῖς ποικίλαις, ἐν κακίᾳ καὶ φθόνῳ διάγοντες, στυγητοί, μισοῦντες ἀλλήλους. |
| 3:4 Pero cuando se manifestó la bondad de Dios nuestro Salvador, y su amor para con los hombres, |
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, |
4 ὅτε δὲ ἡ χρηστότης καὶ ἡ φιλανθρωπία ἐπεφάνη τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν θεοῦ, |
| 3:5 nos salvó, no por obras de justicia que nosotros hubiéramos hecho, sino por su misericordia, por el lavamiento de la regeneración y por la renovación en el Espíritu Santo, |
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; |
5 οὐκ ἐξ ἔργων τῶν ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ ἃ ἐποιήσαμεν ἡμεῖς ἀλλὰ κατὰ τὸ αὐτοῦ ἔλεος ἔσωσεν ἡμᾶς διὰ λουτροῦ παλιγγενεσίας καὶ ἀνακαινώσεως πνεύματος ἁγίου, |
| 3:6 el cual derramó en nosotros abundantemente por Jesucristo nuestro Salvador, |
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; |
6 οὖ ἐξέχεεν ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς πλουσίως διὰ ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν, |
| 3:7 para que justificados por su gracia, viniésemos a ser herederos conforme a la esperanza de la vida eterna. |
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. |
7 ἵνα δικαιωθέντες τῇ ἐκείνου χάριτι κληρονόμοι γενηθῶμεν κατ᾽ ἐλπίδα ζωῆς αἰωνίου. |
| 3:8 Palabra fiel es esta, y en estas cosas quiero que insistas con firmeza, para que los que creen en Dios procuren ocuparse en buenas obras. Estas cosas son buenas y útiles a los hombres. |
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. |
8 πιστὸς ὁ λόγος, καὶ περὶ τούτων βούλομαί σε διαβεβαιοῦσθαι, ἵνα φροντίζωσιν καλῶν ἔργων προΐστασθαι οἱ πεπιστευκότες θεῶ. ταῦτά ἐστιν καλὰ καὶ ὠφέλιμα τοῖς ἀνθρώποις· |
| 3:9 Pero evita las cuestiones necias, y genealogías, y contenciones, y discusiones acerca de la ley; porque son vanas y sin provecho. |
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. |
9 μωρὰς δὲ ζητήσεις καὶ γενεαλογίας καὶ ἔρεις καὶ μάχας νομικὰς περιΐστασο, εἰσὶν γὰρ ἀνωφελεῖς καὶ μάταιοι. |
| 3:10 Al hombre que cause divisiones, después de una y otra amonestación deséchalo, |
A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; |
10 αἱρετικὸν ἄνθρωπον μετὰ μίαν καὶ δευτέραν νουθεσίαν παραιτοῦ, |
| 3:11 sabiendo que el tal se ha pervertido, y peca y está condenado por su propio juicio. |
Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. |
11 εἰδὼς ὅτι ἐξέστραπται ὁ τοιοῦτος καὶ ἁμαρτάνει, ὢν αὐτοκατάκριτος. |
| 3:12 Cuando envíe a ti a Artemas o a Tíquico, apresúrate a venir a mí en Nicópolis, porque allí he determinado pasar el invierno. |
When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter. |
12 ὅταν πέμψω ἀρτεμᾶν πρὸς σὲ ἢ τυχικόν, σπούδασον ἐλθεῖν πρός με εἰς νικόπολιν, ἐκεῖ γὰρ κέκρικα παραχειμάσαι. |
| 3:13 A Zenas intérprete de la ley, y a Apolos, encamínales con solicitud, de modo que nada les falte. |
Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them. |
13 ζηνᾶν τὸν νομικὸν καὶ ἀπολλῶν σπουδαίως πρόπεμψον, ἵνα μηδὲν αὐτοῖς λείπῃ. |
| 3:14 Y aprendan también los nuestros a ocuparse en buenas obras para los casos de necesidad, para que no sean sin fruto. |
And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. |
14 μανθανέτωσαν δὲ καὶ οἱ ἡμέτεροι καλῶν ἔργων προΐστασθαι εἰς τὰς ἀναγκαίας χρείας, ἵνα μὴ ὦσιν ἄκαρποι. |
| 3:15 Todos los que están conmigo te saludan. Saluda a los que nos aman en la fe. La gracia sea con todos vosotros. Amén. |
All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen. |
15 ἀσπάζονταί σε οἱ μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ πάντες. ἄσπασαι τοὺς φιλοῦντας ἡμᾶς ἐν πίστει. ἡ χάρις μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν. |
