New Testament

“Brit Hadassah” (the word B’rit means “covenant” and Chadashah means “new”). Many prophets before Jesus come, received a message from God that He will bing a Brit Hadassah (New testament) different from the one he make from the previous generations, and thats the message from Jesus Christ/Yeshua the promised messiah (Isaiah 9:6; 7:14; Jer31:31). One of them is the prophet Malachi 3:1 which prophecy was soon to be fulfilled, that a prophet was to prepare the way for the Lord God, Jesus Chrirst. The Messiah was on His way.

The 4 Gospels

Besorat HaGeulah – The Good News of Redemption or Gospels. The Hebrew phrase Besorat HaGeulah means “Tidings of Redemption” (Besorah means “tidings” and Ge’ulah means “redemption”).

Matthew

Matthew derives from the Hebrew name “מַתִּתְיָהוּ‎” (Matityahu). Major Elements: Yeshua as the promised Messiah and the Son of King David. The author is traditionally attributed to be the tax collector mentioned in Matthew 10:3. Mattai (also rendered as Mattityahu) means “gift of God.”

Mark

Present Jesus/Yeshua as a miracle maker sent by God. Acts 12:12 the message is directed primarily to the gentiles.

John

Yeshua is presented as Ben Elohim, the only and mighty God. This gospel is traditionally thought to be from John, the “beloved disciple.”

Luke

Yeshua as a human being Son of Adam, and the Son of Man (Daniel 7:13), exemplifying perfect manhood. The author is traditionally attributed to “Luke, the doctor” (Col 4:14, 2 Tim 4:11).

The Letters to the Churches

Letters of Paul (“Pauline Epistles”)
There are thirteen letters from Sha’ul (Paul) the shaliach (messenger) to the Gentiles. Collectively these may be called Igerot Sha’ul Hashaliach, meaning “Letters of the messenger Paul”.

Acts

The Acts of the Apostles, Práxeis Apostólōn (Πράξεις Ἀποστόλων) the fifth book of the New Testament.

 

1Corinthians

Corinth a city in Achaia (Α΄ ᾽Επιστολὴ πρὸς Κορινθίους) An epistle written by Paul Apostle of Jesus Chirst.

2Corinthians

Corinth, a city in Achaia (Α΄ ᾽Επιστολὴ πρὸς Κορινθίους), 2nd epistle written by Paul, the Apostle of Jesus Christ.

 

Romans

Rhomaioi (Ῥωμαῖοι) Empire that formed after Alexander the Great.

1 Thessalonians

Thessalonica, a city built by the Greeks in Macedonia, in the north of Greece.

2Thessalonians

Paul explain parts of the first letter to the Thessalonians.

Galatians

Galatia, a city in Greek (Γαλάτες), was one of the States of the Roman Empire.

James

James the Apostle and brother of Jesus Christ.

Colossians

Colossae, an area in the province of Asia Minor, between Siria and Ephesus (Κολοσσαῖς).

Philemon

Paul wrote to Philemon while imprisoned in Rome (Acts 28:16,30)

Ephesians

Ephesus, today Turkey. Was a Roman province (Ἐφέσιος), the chief city of the Roman province of Asia.

Philippians

Philippi, an administrative center in Macedonia (Φίλιπποι), from the name Phillip of Macedon, the father of Alexander the Great.

1 and 2 Peter's letters

Peter sent his first letter to the congregation in the northern provinces of Asia Minor bordering the black sea (1 Peter 1:1). The second letter was sent to the same congregation while Peter was in prison in Rome.

Hebrews

The book of Hebrews was written as a letter to Jewish Christians who, due to persecution under Emperor Nero in Rome, were considering denying Christ and returning to Judaism.

1Timothy

Timotheos, (Τιμόθεος) means “honoring God”. Paul was writing from Philippi in Macedonia (northern Greece) shortly after leaving Timothy in Ephesus to take charge of the church there (1Tim1:3).

Titus

Titus was originally from Antioch in Syria, and of Greek nationality.

2 Timothy

Paul urges Timothy to focus on Chirst the Messiah and avoid useless arguments (2Tim2:14-26).

Jude

Jude urges believers to defend the faith against false teachers and warns of their destructive consequences by recalling examples of divine judgment on the unbelieving and rebellious.

1, 2 and 3 Letters of John

Written by the end of the first century, John sent the letters to the churches around Ephesus (today Turkey) to alert against false teachings.

Revelation

The Revelation of the plan of God toward the apostasy against God/Jesus and the evil of this world.
