1 παῦλος καὶ σιλουανὸς καὶ τιμόθεος τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ θεσσαλονικέων ἐν θεῶ πατρὶ καὶ κυρίῳ ἰησοῦ χριστῶ· χάρις ὑμῖν καὶ εἰρήνη. |
| 1:2 Damos siempre gracias a Dios por todos vosotros, haciendo memoria de vosotros en nuestras oraciones, |
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; |
2 εὐχαριστοῦμεν τῶ θεῶ πάντοτε περὶ πάντων ὑμῶν, μνείαν ποιούμενοι ἐπὶ τῶν προσευχῶν ἡμῶν, ἀδιαλείπτως |
| 1:3 acordándonos sin cesar delante del Dios y Padre nuestro de la obra de vuestra fe, del trabajo de vuestro amor y de vuestra constancia en la esperanza en nuestro Señor Jesucristo. |
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; |
3 μνημονεύοντες ὑμῶν τοῦ ἔργου τῆς πίστεως καὶ τοῦ κόπου τῆς ἀγάπης καὶ τῆς ὑπομονῆς τῆς ἐλπίδος τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ πατρὸς ἡμῶν, |
| 1:4 Porque conocemos, hermanos amados de Dios, vuestra elección; |
Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. |
4 εἰδότες, ἀδελφοὶ ἠγαπημένοι ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ, τὴν ἐκλογὴν ὑμῶν, |
| 1:5 pues nuestro evangelio no llegó a vosotros en palabras solamente, sino también en poder, en el Espíritu Santo y en plena certidumbre, como bien sabéis cuáles fuimos entre vosotros por amor de vosotros. |
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. |
5 ὅτι τὸ εὐαγγέλιον ἡμῶν οὐκ ἐγενήθη εἰς ὑμᾶς ἐν λόγῳ μόνον ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐν δυνάμει καὶ ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ καὶ ἐν πληροφορίᾳ πολλῇ, καθὼς οἴδατε οἷοι ἐγενήθημεν ἐν ὑμῖν δι᾽ ὑμᾶς. |
| 1:6 Y vosotros vinisteis a ser imitadores de nosotros y del Señor, recibiendo la palabra en medio de gran tribulación, con gozo del Espíritu Santo, |
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: |
6 καὶ ὑμεῖς μιμηταὶ ἡμῶν ἐγενήθητε καὶ τοῦ κυρίου, δεξάμενοι τὸν λόγον ἐν θλίψει πολλῇ μετὰ χαρᾶς πνεύματος ἁγίου, |
| 1:7 de tal manera que habéis sido ejemplo a todos los de Macedonia y de Acaya que han creído. |
So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. |
7 ὥστε γενέσθαι ὑμᾶς τύπον πᾶσιν τοῖς πιστεύουσιν ἐν τῇ μακεδονίᾳ καὶ ἐν τῇ ἀχαΐᾳ. |
| 1:8 Porque partiendo de vosotros ha sido divulgada la palabra del Señor, no sólo en Macedonia y Acaya, sino que también en todo lugar vuestra fe en Dios se ha extendido, de modo que nosotros no tenemos necesidad de hablar nada; |
For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. |
8 ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν γὰρ ἐξήχηται ὁ λόγος τοῦ κυρίου οὐ μόνον ἐν τῇ μακεδονίᾳ καὶ ἐν τῇ ἀχαΐᾳ, ἀλλ᾽ ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν ἡ πρὸς τὸν θεὸν ἐξελήλυθεν, ὥστε μὴ χρείαν ἔχειν ἡμᾶς λαλεῖν τι· |
| 1:9 porque ellos mismos cuentan de nosotros la manera en que nos recibisteis, y cómo os convertisteis de los ídolos a Dios, para servir al Dios vivo y verdadero, |
For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; |
9 αὐτοὶ γὰρ περὶ ἡμῶν ἀπαγγέλλουσιν ὁποίαν εἴσοδον ἔσχομεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς, καὶ πῶς ἐπεστρέψατε πρὸς τὸν θεὸν ἀπὸ τῶν εἰδώλων δουλεύειν θεῶ ζῶντι καὶ ἀληθινῶ, |
| 1:10 y esperar de los cielos a su Hijo, al cual resucitó de los muertos, a Jesús, quien nos libra de la ira venidera. |
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. |
10 καὶ ἀναμένειν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν, ὃν ἤγειρεν ἐκ τῶν νεκρῶν, ἰησοῦν τὸν ῥυόμενον ἡμᾶς ἐκ τῆς ὀργῆς τῆς ἐρχομένης. |
| 2:1 Porque vosotros mismos sabéis, hermanos, que nuestra visita a vosotros no resultó vana; |
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain: |
1 αὐτοὶ γὰρ οἴδατε, ἀδελφοί, τὴν εἴσοδον ἡμῶν τὴν πρὸς ὑμᾶς ὅτι οὐ κενὴ γέγονεν, |
| 2:2 pues habiendo antes padecido y sido ultrajados en Filipos, como sabéis, tuvimos denuedo en nuestro Dios para anunciaros el evangelio de Dios en medio de gran oposición. |
But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention. |
2 ἀλλὰ προπαθόντες καὶ ὑβρισθέντες καθὼς οἴδατε ἐν φιλίπποις ἐπαρρησιασάμεθα ἐν τῶ θεῶ ἡμῶν λαλῆσαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν πολλῶ ἀγῶνι. |
| 2:3 Porque nuestra exhortación no procedió de error ni de impureza, ni fue por engaño, |
For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: |
3 ἡ γὰρ παράκλησις ἡμῶν οὐκ ἐκ πλάνης οὐδὲ ἐξ ἀκαθαρσίας οὐδὲ ἐν δόλῳ, |
| 2:4 sino que según fuimos aprobados por Dios para que se nos confiase el evangelio, así hablamos; no como para agradar a los hombres, sino a Dios, que prueba nuestros corazones. |
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. |
4 ἀλλὰ καθὼς δεδοκιμάσμεθα ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ πιστευθῆναι τὸ εὐαγγέλιον οὕτως λαλοῦμεν, οὐχ ὡς ἀνθρώποις ἀρέσκοντες ἀλλὰ θεῶ τῶ δοκιμάζοντι τὰς καρδίας ἡμῶν. |
| 2:5 Porque nunca usamos de palabras lisonjeras, como sabéis, ni encubrimos avaricia; Dios es testigo; |
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: |
5 οὔτε γάρ ποτε ἐν λόγῳ κολακείας ἐγενήθημεν, καθὼς οἴδατε, οὔτε ἐν προφάσει πλεονεξίας, θεὸς μάρτυς, |
| 2:6 ni buscamos gloria de los hombres; ni de vosotros, ni de otros, aunque podíamos seros carga como apóstoles de Cristo. |
Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. |
6 οὔτε ζητοῦντες ἐξ ἀνθρώπων δόξαν, οὔτε ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν οὔτε ἀπ᾽ ἄλλων, |
| 2:7 Antes fuimos tiernos entre vosotros, como la nodriza que cuida con ternura a sus propios hijos. |
But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: |
7 δυνάμενοι ἐν βάρει εἶναι ὡς χριστοῦ ἀπόστολοι, ἀλλὰ ἐγενήθημεν νήπιοι ἐν μέσῳ ὑμῶν. ὡς ἐὰν τροφὸς θάλπῃ τὰ ἑαυτῆς τέκνα, |
| 2:8 Tan grande es nuestro afecto por vosotros, que hubiéramos querido entregaros no sólo el evangelio de Dios, sino también nuestras propias vidas; porque habéis llegado a sernos muy queridos. |
So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. |
8 οὕτως ὁμειρόμενοι ὑμῶν εὐδοκοῦμεν μεταδοῦναι ὑμῖν οὐ μόνον τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ θεοῦ ἀλλὰ καὶ τὰς ἑαυτῶν ψυχάς, διότι ἀγαπητοὶ ἡμῖν ἐγενήθητε. |
| 2:9 Porque os acordáis, hermanos, de nuestro trabajo y fatiga; cómo trabajando de noche y de día, para no ser gravosos a ninguno de vosotros, os predicamos el evangelio de Dios. |
For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. |
9 μνημονεύετε γάρ, ἀδελφοί, τὸν κόπον ἡμῶν καὶ τὸν μόχθον· νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας ἐργαζόμενοι πρὸς τὸ μὴ ἐπιβαρῆσαί τινα ὑμῶν ἐκηρύξαμεν εἰς ὑμᾶς τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ θεοῦ. |
| 2:10 Vosotros sois testigos, y Dios también, de cuán santa, justa e irreprensiblemente nos comportamos con vosotros los creyentes; |
Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe: |
10 ὑμεῖς μάρτυρες καὶ ὁ θεός, ὡς ὁσίως καὶ δικαίως καὶ ἀμέμπτως ὑμῖν τοῖς πιστεύουσιν ἐγενήθημεν, |
| 2:11 así como también sabéis de qué modo, como el padre a sus hijos, exhortábamos y consolábamos a cada uno de vosotros, |
As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children, |
11 καθάπερ οἴδατε ὡς ἕνα ἕκαστον ὑμῶν ὡς πατὴρ τέκνα ἑαυτοῦ |
| 2:12 y os encargábamos que anduvieseis como es digno de Dios, que os llamó a su reino y gloria. |
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. |
12 παρακαλοῦντες ὑμᾶς καὶ παραμυθούμενοι καὶ μαρτυρόμενοι εἰς τὸ περιπατεῖν ὑμᾶς ἀξίως τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ καλοῦντος ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν ἑαυτοῦ βασιλείαν καὶ δόξαν. |
| 2:13 Por lo cual también nosotros sin cesar damos gracias a Dios, de que cuando recibisteis la palabra de Dios que oísteis de nosotros, la recibisteis no como palabra de hombres, sino según es en verdad, la palabra de Dios, la cual actúa en vosotros los creyentes. |
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. |
13 καὶ διὰ τοῦτο καὶ ἡμεῖς εὐχαριστοῦμεν τῶ θεῶ ἀδιαλείπτως, ὅτι παραλαβόντες λόγον ἀκοῆς παρ᾽ ἡμῶν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐδέξασθε οὐ λόγον ἀνθρώπων ἀλλὰ καθώς ἐστιν ἀληθῶς λόγον θεοῦ, ὃς καὶ ἐνεργεῖται ἐν ὑμῖν τοῖς πιστεύουσιν. |
| 2:14 Porque vosotros, hermanos, vinisteis a ser imitadores de las iglesias de Dios en Cristo Jesús que están en Judea; pues habéis padecido de los de vuestra propia nación las mismas cosas que ellas padecieron de los judíos, |
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: |
14 ὑμεῖς γὰρ μιμηταὶ ἐγενήθητε, ἀδελφοί, τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν τοῦ θεοῦ τῶν οὐσῶν ἐν τῇ ἰουδαίᾳ ἐν χριστῶ ἰησοῦ, ὅτι τὰ αὐτὰ ἐπάθετε καὶ ὑμεῖς ὑπὸ τῶν ἰδίων συμφυλετῶν καθὼς καὶ αὐτοὶ ὑπὸ τῶν ἰουδαίων, |
| 2:15 los cuales mataron al Señor Jesús y a sus propios profetas, y a nosotros nos expulsaron; y no agradan a Dios, y se oponen a todos los hombres, |
Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: |
15 τῶν καὶ τὸν κύριον ἀποκτεινάντων ἰησοῦν καὶ τοὺς προφήτας, καὶ ἡμᾶς ἐκδιωξάντων, καὶ θεῶ μὴ ἀρεσκόντων, καὶ πᾶσιν ἀνθρώποις ἐναντίων, |
| 2:16 impidiéndonos hablar a los gentiles para que éstos se salven; así colman ellos siempre la medida de sus pecados, pues vino sobre ellos la ira hasta el extremo. |
Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost. |
16 κωλυόντων ἡμᾶς τοῖς ἔθνεσιν λαλῆσαι ἵνα σωθῶσιν, εἰς τὸ ἀναπληρῶσαι αὐτῶν τὰς ἁμαρτίας πάντοτε. ἔφθασεν δὲ ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς ἡ ὀργὴ εἰς τέλος. |
| 2:17 Pero nosotros, hermanos, separados de vosotros por un poco de tiempo, de vista pero no de corazón, tanto más procuramos con mucho deseo ver vuestro rostro; |
But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire. |
17 ἡμεῖς δέ, ἀδελφοί, ἀπορφανισθέντες ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν πρὸς καιρὸν ὥρας, προσώπῳ οὐ καρδίᾳ, περισσοτέρως ἐσπουδάσαμεν τὸ πρόσωπον ὑμῶν ἰδεῖν ἐν πολλῇ ἐπιθυμίᾳ. |
| 2:18 por lo cual quisimos ir a vosotros, yo Pablo ciertamente una y otra vez; pero Satanás nos estorbó. |
Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us. |
18 διότι ἠθελήσαμεν ἐλθεῖν πρὸς ὑμᾶς, ἐγὼ μὲν παῦλος καὶ ἅπαξ καὶ δίς, καὶ ἐνέκοψεν ἡμᾶς ὁ σατανᾶς. |
| 2:19 Porque ¿cuál es nuestra esperanza, o gozo, o corona de que me gloríe? ¿No lo sois vosotros, delante de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, en su venida? |
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? |
19 τίς γὰρ ἡμῶν ἐλπὶς ἢ χαρὰ ἢ στέφανος καυχήσεως _ ἢ οὐχὶ καὶ ὑμεῖς _ ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ ἐν τῇ αὐτοῦ παρουσίᾳ; |
| 2:20 Vosotros sois nuestra gloria y gozo. |
For ye are our glory and joy. |
20 ὑμεῖς γάρ ἐστε ἡ δόξα ἡμῶν καὶ ἡ χαρά. |
| 3:1 Por lo cual, no pudiendo soportarlo más, acordamos quedarnos solos en Atenas, |
Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; |
1 διὸ μηκέτι στέγοντες εὐδοκήσαμεν καταλειφθῆναι ἐν ἀθήναις μόνοι, |
| 3:2 y enviamos a Timoteo nuestro hermano, servidor de Dios y colaborador nuestro en el evangelio de Cristo, para confirmaros y exhortaros respecto a vuestra fe, |
And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: |
2 καὶ ἐπέμψαμεν τιμόθεον, τὸν ἀδελφὸν ἡμῶν καὶ συνεργὸν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν τῶ εὐαγγελίῳ τοῦ χριστοῦ, εἰς τὸ στηρίξαι ὑμᾶς καὶ παρακαλέσαι ὑπὲρ τῆς πίστεως ὑμῶν |
| 3:3 a fin de que nadie se inquiete por estas tribulaciones; porque vosotros mismos sabéis que para esto estamos puestos. |
That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. |
3 τὸ μηδένα σαίνεσθαι ἐν ταῖς θλίψεσιν ταύταις. αὐτοὶ γὰρ οἴδατε ὅτι εἰς τοῦτο κείμεθα· |
| 3:4 Porque también estando con vosotros, os predecíamos que íbamos a pasar tribulaciones, como ha acontecido y sabéis. |
For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know. |
4 καὶ γὰρ ὅτε πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἦμεν, προελέγομεν ὑμῖν ὅτι μέλλομεν θλίβεσθαι, καθὼς καὶ ἐγένετο καὶ οἴδατε. |
| 3:5 Por lo cual también yo, no pudiendo soportar más, envié para informarme de vuestra fe, no sea que os hubiese tentado el tentador, y que nuestro trabajo resultase en vano. |
For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain. |
5 διὰ τοῦτο κἀγὼ μηκέτι στέγων ἔπεμψα εἰς τὸ γνῶναι τὴν πίστιν ὑμῶν, μή πως ἐπείρασεν ὑμᾶς ὁ πειράζων καὶ εἰς κενὸν γένηται ὁ κόπος ἡμῶν. |
| 3:6 Pero cuando Timoteo volvió de vosotros a nosotros, y nos dio buenas noticias de vuestra fe y amor, y que siempre nos recordáis con cariño, deseando vernos, como también nosotros a vosotros, |
But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you: |
6 ἄρτι δὲ ἐλθόντος τιμοθέου πρὸς ἡμᾶς ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν καὶ εὐαγγελισαμένου ἡμῖν τὴν πίστιν καὶ τὴν ἀγάπην ὑμῶν, καὶ ὅτι ἔχετε μνείαν ἡμῶν ἀγαθὴν πάντοτε, ἐπιποθοῦντες ἡμᾶς ἰδεῖν καθάπερ καὶ ἡμεῖς ὑμᾶς, |
| 3:7 por ello, hermanos, en medio de toda nuestra necesidad y aflicción fuimos consolados de vosotros por medio de vuestra fe; |
Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: |
7 διὰ τοῦτο παρεκλήθημεν, ἀδελφοί, ἐφ᾽ ὑμῖν ἐπὶ πάσῃ τῇ ἀνάγκῃ καὶ θλίψει ἡμῶν διὰ τῆς ὑμῶν πίστεως, |
| 3:8 porque ahora vivimos, si vosotros estáis firmes en el Señor. |
For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. |
8 ὅτι νῦν ζῶμεν ἐὰν ὑμεῖς στήκετε ἐν κυρίῳ. |
| 3:9 Por lo cual, ¿qué acción de gracias podremos dar a Dios por vosotros, por todo el gozo con que nos gozamos a causa de vosotros delante de nuestro Dios, |
For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God; |
9 τίνα γὰρ εὐχαριστίαν δυνάμεθα τῶ θεῶ ἀνταποδοῦναι περὶ ὑμῶν ἐπὶ πάσῃ τῇ χαρᾷ ᾗ χαίρομεν δι᾽ ὑμᾶς ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν, |
| 3:10 orando de noche y de día con gran insistencia, para que veamos vuestro rostro, y completemos lo que falte a vuestra fe? |
Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? |
10 νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας ὑπερεκπερισσοῦ δεόμενοι εἰς τὸ ἰδεῖν ὑμῶν τὸ πρόσωπον καὶ καταρτίσαι τὰ ὑστερήματα τῆς πίστεως ὑμῶν; |
| 3:11 Mas el mismo Dios y Padre nuestro, y nuestro Señor Jesucristo, dirija nuestro camino a vosotros. |
Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. |
11 αὐτὸς δὲ ὁ θεὸς καὶ πατὴρ ἡμῶν καὶ ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν ἰησοῦς κατευθύναι τὴν ὁδὸν ἡμῶν πρὸς ὑμᾶς· |
| 3:12 Y el Señor os haga crecer y abundar en amor unos para con otros y para con todos, como también lo hacemos nosotros para con vosotros, |
And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: |
12 ὑμᾶς δὲ ὁ κύριος πλεονάσαι καὶ περισσεύσαι τῇ ἀγάπῃ εἰς ἀλλήλους καὶ εἰς πάντας, καθάπερ καὶ ἡμεῖς εἰς ὑμᾶς, |
| 3:13 para que sean afirmados vuestros corazones, irreprensibles en santidad delante de Dios nuestro Padre, en la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo con todos sus santos. |
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. |
13 εἰς τὸ στηρίξαι ὑμῶν τὰς καρδίας ἀμέμπτους ἐν ἁγιωσύνῃ ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ πατρὸς ἡμῶν ἐν τῇ παρουσίᾳ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ μετὰ πάντων τῶν ἁγίων αὐτοῦ. ἀμήν. |
| 4:1 Por lo demás, hermanos, os rogamos y exhortamos en el Señor Jesús, que de la manera que aprendisteis de nosotros cómo os conviene conduciros y agradar a Dios, así abundéis más y más. |
Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. |
1 λοιπὸν οὗν, ἀδελφοί, ἐρωτῶμεν ὑμᾶς καὶ παρακαλοῦμεν ἐν κυρίῳ ἰησοῦ, ἵνα καθὼς παρελάβετε παρ᾽ ἡμῶν τὸ πῶς δεῖ ὑμᾶς περιπατεῖν καὶ ἀρέσκειν θεῶ, καθὼς καὶ περιπατεῖτε, ἵνα περισσεύητε μᾶλλον. |
| 4:2 Porque ya sabéis qué instrucciones os dimos por el Señor Jesús; |
For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. |
2 οἴδατε γὰρ τίνας παραγγελίας ἐδώκαμεν ὑμῖν διὰ τοῦ κυρίου ἰησοῦ. |
| 4:3 pues la voluntad de Dios es vuestra santificación; que os apartéis de fornicación; |
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: |
3 τοῦτο γάρ ἐστιν θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ, ὁ ἁγιασμὸς ὑμῶν, ἀπέχεσθαι ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ τῆς πορνείας, |
| 4:4 que cada uno de vosotros sepa tener su propia esposa en santidad y honor; |
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; |
4 εἰδέναι ἕκαστον ὑμῶν τὸ ἑαυτοῦ σκεῦος κτᾶσθαι ἐν ἁγιασμῶ καὶ τιμῇ, |
| 4:5 no en pasión de concupiscencia, como los gentiles que no conocen a Dios; |
Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: |
5 μὴ ἐν πάθει ἐπιθυμίας καθάπερ καὶ τὰ ἔθνη τὰ μὴ εἰδότα τὸν θεόν, |
| 4:6 que ninguno agravie ni engañe en nada a su hermano; porque el Señor es vengador de todo esto, como ya os hemos dicho y testificado. |
That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. |
6 τὸ μὴ ὑπερβαίνειν καὶ πλεονεκτεῖν ἐν τῶ πράγματι τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ, διότι ἔκδικος κύριος περὶ πάντων τούτων, καθὼς καὶ προείπαμεν ὑμῖν καὶ διεμαρτυράμεθα. |
| 4:7 Pues no nos ha llamado Dios a inmundicia, sino a santificación. |
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. |
7 οὐ γὰρ ἐκάλεσεν ἡμᾶς ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ ἀκαθαρσίᾳ ἀλλ᾽ ἐν ἁγιασμῶ. |
| 4:8 Así que, el que desecha esto, no desecha a hombre, sino a Dios, que también nos dio su Espíritu Santo. |
He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. |
8 τοιγαροῦν ὁ ἀθετῶν οὐκ ἄνθρωπον ἀθετεῖ ἀλλὰ τὸν θεὸν τὸν καὶ διδόντα τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ τὸ ἅγιον εἰς ὑμᾶς. |
| 4:9 Pero acerca del amor fraternal no tenéis necesidad de que os escriba, porque vosotros mismos habéis aprendido de Dios que os améis unos a otros; |
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. |
9 περὶ δὲ τῆς φιλαδελφίας οὐ χρείαν ἔχετε γράφειν ὑμῖν, αὐτοὶ γὰρ ὑμεῖς θεοδίδακτοί ἐστε εἰς τὸ ἀγαπᾶν ἀλλήλους· |
| 4:10 y también lo hacéis así con todos los hermanos que están por toda Macedonia. Pero os rogamos, hermanos, que abundéis en ello más y más; |
And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; |
10 καὶ γὰρ ποιεῖτε αὐτὸ εἰς πάντας τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς τοὺς ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ μακεδονίᾳ. παρακαλοῦμεν δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, περισσεύειν μᾶλλον, |
| 4:11 y que procuréis tener tranquilidad, y ocuparos en vuestros negocios, y trabajar con vuestras manos de la manera que os hemos mandado, |
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; |
11 καὶ φιλοτιμεῖσθαι ἡσυχάζειν καὶ πράσσειν τὰ ἴδια καὶ ἐργάζεσθαι ταῖς ἰδίαις χερσὶν ὑμῶν, καθὼς ὑμῖν παρηγγείλαμεν, |
| 4:12 a fin de que os conduzcáis honradamente para con los de afuera, y no tengáis necesidad de nada. |
That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. |
12 ἵνα περιπατῆτε εὐσχημόνως πρὸς τοὺς ἔξω καὶ μηδενὸς χρείαν ἔχητε. |
| 4:13 Tampoco queremos, hermanos, que ignoréis acerca de los que duermen, para que no os entristezcáis como los otros que no tienen esperanza. |
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. |
13 οὐ θέλομεν δὲ ὑμᾶς ἀγνοεῖν, ἀδελφοί, περὶ τῶν κοιμωμένων, ἵνα μὴ λυπῆσθε καθὼς καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ οἱ μὴ ἔχοντες ἐλπίδα. |
| 4:14 Porque si creemos que Jesús murió y resucitó, así también traerá Dios con Jesús a los que durmieron en él. |
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. |
14 εἰ γὰρ πιστεύομεν ὅτι ἰησοῦς ἀπέθανεν καὶ ἀνέστη, οὕτως καὶ ὁ θεὸς τοὺς κοιμηθέντας διὰ τοῦ ἰησοῦ ἄξει σὺν αὐτῶ. |
| 4:15 Por lo cual os decimos esto en palabra del Señor: que nosotros que vivimos, que habremos quedado hasta la venida del Señor, no precederemos a los que durmieron. |
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. |
15 τοῦτο γὰρ ὑμῖν λέγομεν ἐν λόγῳ κυρίου, ὅτι ἡμεῖς οἱ ζῶντες οἱ περιλειπόμενοι εἰς τὴν παρουσίαν τοῦ κυρίου οὐ μὴ φθάσωμεν τοὺς κοιμηθέντας· |
| 4:16 Porque el Señor mismo con voz de mando, con voz de arcángel, y con trompeta de Dios, descenderá del cielo; y los muertos en Cristo resucitarán primero. |
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: |
16 ὅτι αὐτὸς ὁ κύριος ἐν κελεύσματι, ἐν φωνῇ ἀρχαγγέλου καὶ ἐν σάλπιγγι θεοῦ, καταβήσεται ἀπ᾽ οὐρανοῦ, καὶ οἱ νεκροὶ ἐν χριστῶ ἀναστήσονται πρῶτον, |
| 4:17 Luego nosotros los que vivimos, los que hayamos quedado, seremos arrebatados juntamente con ellos en las nubes para recibir al Señor en el aire, y así estaremos siempre con el Señor. |
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. |
17 ἔπειτα ἡμεῖς οἱ ζῶντες οἱ περιλειπόμενοι ἅμα σὺν αὐτοῖς ἁρπαγησόμεθα ἐν νεφέλαις εἰς ἀπάντησιν τοῦ κυρίου εἰς ἀέρα· καὶ οὕτως πάντοτε σὺν κυρίῳ ἐσόμεθα. |
| 4:18 Por tanto, alentaos los unos a los otros con estas palabras. |
Wherefore comfort one another with these words. |
18 ὥστε παρακαλεῖτε ἀλλήλους ἐν τοῖς λόγοις τούτοις. |
| 5:1 Pero acerca de los tiempos y de las ocasiones, no tenéis necesidad, hermanos, de que yo os escriba. |
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. |
1 περὶ δὲ τῶν χρόνων καὶ τῶν καιρῶν, ἀδελφοί, οὐ χρείαν ἔχετε ὑμῖν γράφεσθαι, |
| 5:2 Porque vosotros sabéis perfectamente que el día del Señor vendrá así como ladrón en la noche; |
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. |
2 αὐτοὶ γὰρ ἀκριβῶς οἴδατε ὅτι ἡμέρα κυρίου ὡς κλέπτης ἐν νυκτὶ οὕτως ἔρχεται. |
| 5:3 que cuando digan: Paz y seguridad, entonces vendrá sobre ellos destrucción repentina, como los dolores a la mujer encinta, y no escaparán. |
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. |
3 ὅταν λέγωσιν, εἰρήνη καὶ ἀσφάλεια, τότε αἰφνίδιος αὐτοῖς ἐφίσταται ὄλεθρος ὥσπερ ἡ ὠδὶν τῇ ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσῃ, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐκφύγωσιν. |
| 5:4 Mas vosotros, hermanos, no estáis en tinieblas, para que aquel día os sorprenda como ladrón. |
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. |
4 ὑμεῖς δέ, ἀδελφοί, οὐκ ἐστὲ ἐν σκότει, ἵνα ἡ ἡμέρα ὑμᾶς ὡς κλέπτης καταλάβῃ, |
| 5:5 Porque todos vosotros sois hijos de luz e hijos del día; no somos de la noche ni de las tinieblas. |
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. |
5 πάντες γὰρ ὑμεῖς υἱοὶ φωτός ἐστε καὶ υἱοὶ ἡμέρας. οὐκ ἐσμὲν νυκτὸς οὐδὲ σκότους· |
| 5:6 Por tanto, no durmamos como los demás, sino velemos y seamos sobrios. |
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. |
6 ἄρα οὗν μὴ καθεύδωμεν ὡς οἱ λοιποί, ἀλλὰ γρηγορῶμεν καὶ νήφωμεν. |
| 5:7 Pues los que duermen, de noche duermen, y los que se embriagan, de noche se embriagan. |
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. |
7 οἱ γὰρ καθεύδοντες νυκτὸς καθεύδουσιν, καὶ οἱ μεθυσκόμενοι νυκτὸς μεθύουσιν· |
| 5:8 Pero nosotros, que somos del día, seamos sobrios, habiéndonos vestido con la coraza de fe y de amor, y con la esperanza de salvación como yelmo. |
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. |
8 ἡμεῖς δὲ ἡμέρας ὄντες νήφωμεν, ἐνδυσάμενοι θώρακα πίστεως καὶ ἀγάπης καὶ περικεφαλαίαν ἐλπίδα σωτηρίας· |
| 5:9 Porque no nos ha puesto Dios para ira, sino para alcanzar salvación por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, |
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, |
9 ὅτι οὐκ ἔθετο ἡμᾶς ὁ θεὸς εἰς ὀργὴν ἀλλὰ εἰς περιποίησιν σωτηρίας διὰ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ, |
| 5:10 quien murió por nosotros para que ya sea que velemos, o que durmamos, vivamos juntamente con él. |
Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. |
10 τοῦ ἀποθανόντος ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν ἵνα εἴτε γρηγορῶμεν εἴτε καθεύδωμεν ἅμα σὺν αὐτῶ ζήσωμεν. |
| 5:11 Por lo cual, animaos unos a otros, y edificaos unos a otros, así como lo hacéis. |
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. |
11 διὸ παρακαλεῖτε ἀλλήλους καὶ οἰκοδομεῖτε εἷς τὸν ἕνα, καθὼς καὶ ποιεῖτε. |
| 5:12 Os rogamos, hermanos, que reconozcáis a los que trabajan entre vosotros, y os presiden en el Señor, y os amonestan; |
And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; |
12 ἐρωτῶμεν δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, εἰδέναι τοὺς κοπιῶντας ἐν ὑμῖν καὶ προϊσταμένους ὑμῶν ἐν κυρίῳ καὶ νουθετοῦντας ὑμᾶς, |
| 5:13 y que los tengáis en mucha estima y amor por causa de su obra. Tened paz entre vosotros. |
And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. |
13 καὶ ἡγεῖσθαι αὐτοὺς ὑπερεκπερισσοῦ ἐν ἀγάπῃ διὰ τὸ ἔργον αὐτῶν. εἰρηνεύετε ἐν ἑαυτοῖς. |
| 5:14 También os rogamos, hermanos, que amonestéis a los ociosos, que alentéis a los de poco ánimo, que sostengáis a los débiles, que seáis pacientes para con todos. |
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. |
14 παρακαλοῦμεν δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, νουθετεῖτε τοὺς ἀτάκτους, παραμυθεῖσθε τοὺς ὀλιγοψύχους, ἀντέχεσθε τῶν ἀσθενῶν, μακροθυμεῖτε πρὸς πάντας. |
| 5:15 Mirad que ninguno pague a otro mal por mal; antes seguid siempre lo bueno unos para con otros, y para con todos. |
See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. |
15 ὁρᾶτε μή τις κακὸν ἀντὶ κακοῦ τινι ἀποδῶ, ἀλλὰ πάντοτε τὸ ἀγαθὸν διώκετε καὶ εἰς ἀλλήλους καὶ εἰς πάντας. |
| 5:16 Estad siempre gozosos. |
Rejoice evermore. |
16 πάντοτε χαίρετε, |
| 5:17 Orad sin cesar. |
Pray without ceasing. |
17 ἀδιαλείπτως προσεύχεσθε, |
| 5:18 Dad gracias en todo, porque esta es la voluntad de Dios para con vosotros en Cristo Jesús. |
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. |
18 ἐν παντὶ εὐχαριστεῖτε· τοῦτο γὰρ θέλημα θεοῦ ἐν χριστῶ ἰησοῦ εἰς ὑμᾶς. |
| 5:19 No apaguéis al Espíritu. |
Quench not the Spirit. |
19 τὸ πνεῦμα μὴ σβέννυτε, |
| 5:20 No menospreciéis las profecías. |
Despise not prophesyings. |
20 προφητείας μὴ ἐξουθενεῖτε· |
| 5:21 Examinadlo todo; retened lo bueno. |
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. |
21 πάντα δὲ δοκιμάζετε, τὸ καλὸν κατέχετε, |
| 5:22 Absteneos de toda especie de mal. |
Abstain from all appearance of evil. |
22 ἀπὸ παντὸς εἴδους πονηροῦ ἀπέχεσθε. |
| 5:23 Y el mismo Dios de paz os santifique por completo; y todo vuestro ser, espíritu, alma y cuerpo, sea guardado irreprensible para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. |
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
23 αὐτὸς δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης ἁγιάσαι ὑμᾶς ὁλοτελεῖς, καὶ ὁλόκληρον ὑμῶν τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ καὶ τὸ σῶμα ἀμέμπτως ἐν τῇ παρουσίᾳ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ τηρηθείη. |
| 5:24 Fiel es el que os llama, el cual también lo hará. |
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. |
24 πιστὸς ὁ καλῶν ὑμᾶς, ὃς καὶ ποιήσει. |
| 5:25 Hermanos, orad por nosotros. |
Brethren, pray for us. |
25 ἀδελφοί, προσεύχεσθε καὶ περὶ ἡμῶν. |
| 5:26 Saludad a todos los hermanos con ósculo santo. |
Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss. |
26 ἀσπάσασθε τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς πάντας ἐν φιλήματι ἁγίῳ. |
| 5:27 Os conjuro por el Señor, que esta carta se lea a todos los santos hermanos. |
I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren. |
27 ἐνορκίζω ὑμᾶς τὸν κύριον ἀναγνωσθῆναι τὴν ἐπιστολὴν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς. |
| 5:28 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con vosotros. Amén. |
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. |
28 ἡ χάρις τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν. |
