1:1 Dios, habiendo hablado muchas veces y de muchas maneras en otro tiempo a los padres por los profetas, God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 1 πολυμερῶς καὶ πολυτρόπως πάλαι ὁ θεὸς λαλήσας τοῖς πατράσιν ἐν τοῖς προφήταις
1:2 en estos postreros días nos ha hablado por el Hijo, a quien constituyó heredero de todo, y por quien asimismo hizo el universo; Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 2 ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτου τῶν ἡμερῶν τούτων ἐλάλησεν ἡμῖν ἐν υἱῶ, ὃν ἔθηκεν κληρονόμον πάντων, δι᾽ οὖ καὶ ἐποίησεν τοὺς αἰῶνας·
1:3 el cual, siendo el resplandor de su gloria, y la imagen misma de su sustancia, y quien sustenta todas las cosas con la palabra de su poder, habiendo efectuado la purificación de nuestros pecados por medio de sí mismo, se sentó a la diestra de la Majestad en las alturas, Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 3 ὃς ὢν ἀπαύγασμα τῆς δόξης καὶ χαρακτὴρ τῆς ὑποστάσεως αὐτοῦ, φέρων τε τὰ πάντα τῶ ῥήματι τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ, καθαρισμὸν τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ποιησάμενος ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τῆς μεγαλωσύνης ἐν ὑψηλοῖς,
1:4 hecho tanto superior a los ángeles, cuanto heredó más excelente nombre que ellos. Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 4 τοσούτῳ κρείττων γενόμενος τῶν ἀγγέλων ὅσῳ διαφορώτερον παρ᾽ αὐτοὺς κεκληρονόμηκεν ὄνομα.
1:5 Porque ¿a cuál de los ángeles dijo Dios jamás: Mi Hijo eres tú, Yo te he engendrado hoy, y otra vez: Yo seré a él Padre, Y él me será a mí hijo? For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 5 τίνι γὰρ εἶπέν ποτε τῶν ἀγγέλων, υἱός μου εἶ σύ, ἐγὼ σήμερον γεγέννηκά σε; καὶ πάλιν, ἐγὼ ἔσομαι αὐτῶ εἰς πατέρα, καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱόν;
1:6 Y otra vez, cuando introduce al Primogénito en el mundo, dice: Adórenle todos los ángeles de Dios. And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 6 ὅταν δὲ πάλιν εἰσαγάγῃ τὸν πρωτότοκον εἰς τὴν οἰκουμένην, λέγει, καὶ προσκυνησάτωσαν αὐτῶ πάντες ἄγγελοι θεοῦ.
1:7 Ciertamente de los ángeles dice: El que hace a sus ángeles espíritus, Y a sus ministros llama de fuego. And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 7 καὶ πρὸς μὲν τοὺς ἀγγέλους λέγει, ὁ ποιῶν τοὺς ἀγγέλους αὐτοῦ πνεύματα, καὶ τοὺς λειτουργοὺς αὐτοῦ πυρὸς φλόγα·
1:8 Mas del Hijo dice: Tu trono, oh Dios, por el siglo del siglo;Salmo45:6 Cetro de equidad es el cetro de tu reino. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 8 πρὸς δὲ τὸν υἱόν, ὁ θρόνος σου, ὁ θεός, εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος, καὶ ἡ ῥάβδος τῆς εὐθύτητος ῥάβδος τῆς βασιλείας σου.
1:9 Has amado la justicia, y aborrecido la maldad, Por lo cual te ungió Dios, el Dios tuyo, Con óleo de alegría más que a tus compañeros.Salmo45:7 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 9 ἠγάπησας δικαιοσύνην καὶ ἐμίσησας ἀνομίαν· διὰ τοῦτο ἔχρισέν σε ὁ θεός, ὁ θεός σου, ἔλαιον ἀγαλλιάσεως παρὰ τοὺς μετόχους σου·
1:10 Y: Tú, oh Señor, en el principio fundaste la tierra, Y los cielos son obra de tus manos. And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 10 καί, σὺ κατ᾽ ἀρχάς, κύριε, τὴν γῆν ἐθεμελίωσας, καὶ ἔργα τῶν χειρῶν σού εἰσιν οἱ οὐρανοί·
1:11 Ellos perecerán, mas tú permaneces; Y todos ellos se envejecerán como una vestidura, They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 11 αὐτοὶ ἀπολοῦνται, σὺ δὲ διαμένεις· καὶ πάντες ὡς ἱμάτιον παλαιωθήσονται,
1:12 Y como un vestido los envolverás, y serán mudados; Pero tú eres el mismo, Y tus años no acabarán. And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. 12 καὶ ὡσεὶ περιβόλαιον ἑλίξεις αὐτούς, ὡς ἱμάτιον καὶ ἀλλαγήσονται· σὺ δὲ ὁ αὐτὸς εἶ καὶ τὰ ἔτη σου οὐκ ἐκλείψουσιν.
1:13 Pues, ¿a cuál de los ángeles dijo Dios jamás: Siéntate a mi diestra, Hasta que ponga a tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies? But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 13 πρὸς τίνα δὲ τῶν ἀγγέλων εἴρηκέν ποτε, κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου;
1:14 ¿No son todos espíritus ministradores, enviados para servicio a favor de los que serán herederos de la salvación? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? 14 οὐχὶ πάντες εἰσὶν λειτουργικὰ πνεύματα εἰς διακονίαν ἀποστελλόμενα διὰ τοὺς μέλλοντας κληρονομεῖν σωτηρίαν;
2:1 Por tanto, es necesario que con más diligencia atendamos a las cosas que hemos oído, no sea que nos deslicemos. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 1 διὰ τοῦτο δεῖ περισσοτέρως προσέχειν ἡμᾶς τοῖς ἀκουσθεῖσιν, μήποτε παραρυῶμεν.
2:2 Porque si la palabra dicha por medio de los ángeles fue firme, y toda transgresión y desobediencia recibió justa retribución, For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 2 εἰ γὰρ ὁ δι᾽ ἀγγέλων λαληθεὶς λόγος ἐγένετο βέβαιος, καὶ πᾶσα παράβασις καὶ παρακοὴ ἔλαβεν ἔνδικον μισθαποδοσίαν,
2:3 ¿cómo escaparemos nosotros, si descuidamos una salvación tan grande? La cual, habiendo sido anunciada primeramente por el Señor, nos fue confirmada por los que oyeron, How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; 3 πῶς ἡμεῖς ἐκφευξόμεθα τηλικαύτης ἀμελήσαντες σωτηρίας; ἥτις, ἀρχὴν λαβοῦσα λαλεῖσθαι διὰ τοῦ κυρίου, ὑπὸ τῶν ἀκουσάντων εἰς ἡμᾶς ἐβεβαιώθη,
2:4 testificando Dios juntamente con ellos, con señales y prodigios y diversos milagros y repartimientos del Espíritu Santo según su voluntad. God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? 4 συνεπιμαρτυροῦντος τοῦ θεοῦ σημείοις τε καὶ τέρασιν καὶ ποικίλαις δυνάμεσιν καὶ πνεύματος ἁγίου μερισμοῖς κατὰ τὴν αὐτοῦ θέλησιν.
2:5 Porque no sujetó a los ángeles el mundo venidero, acerca del cual estamos hablando; For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. 5 οὐ γὰρ ἀγγέλοις ὑπέταξεν τὴν οἰκουμένην τὴν μέλλουσαν, περὶ ἧς λαλοῦμεν.
2:6 pero alguien testificó en cierto lugar, diciendo: ¿Qué es el hombre, para que te acuerdes de él, O el hijo del hombre, para que le visites? But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? 6 διεμαρτύρατο δέ πού τις λέγων, τί ἐστιν ἄνθρωπος ὅτι μιμνῄσκῃ αὐτοῦ, ἢ υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου ὅτι ἐπισκέπτῃ αὐτόν;
2:7 Le hiciste un poco menor que los ángeles, Le coronaste de gloria y de honra, Y le pusiste sobre las obras de tus manos; Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: 7 ἠλάττωσας αὐτὸν βραχύ τι παρ᾽ ἀγγέλους, δόξῃ καὶ τιμῇ ἐστεφάνωσας αὐτόν,
2:8 Todo lo sujetaste bajo sus pies. Porque en cuanto le sujetó todas las cosas, nada dejó que no sea sujeto a él; pero todavía no vemos que todas las cosas le sean sujetas. Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. 8 πάντα ὑπέταξας ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ. ἐν τῶ γὰρ ὑποτάξαι αὐτῶ τὰ πάντα οὐδὲν ἀφῆκεν αὐτῶ ἀνυπότακτον. νῦν δὲ οὔπω ὁρῶμεν αὐτῶ τὰ πάντα ὑποτεταγμένα·
2:9 Pero vemos a aquel que fue hecho un poco menor que los ángeles, a Jesús, coronado de gloria y de honra, a causa del padecimiento de la muerte, para que por la gracia de Dios gustase la muerte por todos. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 9 τὸν δὲ βραχύ τι παρ᾽ ἀγγέλους ἠλαττωμένον βλέπομεν ἰησοῦν διὰ τὸ πάθημα τοῦ θανάτου δόξῃ καὶ τιμῇ ἐστεφανωμένον, ὅπως χάριτι θεοῦ ὑπὲρ παντὸς γεύσηται θανάτου.
2:10 Porque convenía a aquel por cuya causa son todas las cosas, y por quien todas las cosas subsisten, que habiendo de llevar muchos hijos a la gloria, perfeccionase por aflicciones al autor de la salvación de ellos. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 10 ἔπρεπεν γὰρ αὐτῶ, δι᾽ ὃν τὰ πάντα καὶ δι᾽ οὖ τὰ πάντα, πολλοὺς υἱοὺς εἰς δόξαν ἀγαγόντα τὸν ἀρχηγὸν τῆς σωτηρίας αὐτῶν διὰ παθημάτων τελειῶσαι.
2:11 Porque el que santifica y los que son santificados, de uno son todos; por lo cual no se avergüenza de llamarlos hermanos, For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 11 ὁ τε γὰρ ἁγιάζων καὶ οἱ ἁγιαζόμενοι ἐξ ἑνὸς πάντες· δι᾽ ἣν αἰτίαν οὐκ ἐπαισχύνεται ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοὺς καλεῖν,
2:12 diciendo: Anunciaré a mis hermanos tu nombre, En medio de la congregación te alabaré. Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. 12 λέγων, ἀπαγγελῶ τὸ ὄνομά σου τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς μου, ἐν μέσῳ ἐκκλησίας ὑμνήσω σε·
2:13 Y otra vez: Yo confiaré en él. Y de nuevo: He aquí, yo y los hijos que Dios me dio. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. 13 καὶ πάλιν, ἐγὼ ἔσομαι πεποιθὼς ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶ· καὶ πάλιν, ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καὶ τὰ παιδία ἅ μοι ἔδωκεν ὁ θεός.
2:14 Así que, por cuanto los hijos participaron de carne y sangre, él también participó de lo mismo, para destruir por medio de la muerte al que tenía el imperio de la muerte, esto es, al diablo, Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 14 ἐπεὶ οὗν τὰ παιδία κεκοινώνηκεν αἵματος καὶ σαρκός, καὶ αὐτὸς παραπλησίως μετέσχεν τῶν αὐτῶν, ἵνα διὰ τοῦ θανάτου καταργήσῃ τὸν τὸ κράτος ἔχοντα τοῦ θανάτου, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν τὸν διάβολον,
2:15 y librar a todos los que por el temor de la muerte estaban durante toda la vida sujetos a servidumbre. And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 15 καὶ ἀπαλλάξῃ τούτους, ὅσοι φόβῳ θανάτου διὰ παντὸς τοῦ ζῆν ἔνοχοι ἦσαν δουλείας.
2:16 Porque ciertamente no socorrió a los ángeles, sino que socorrió a la descendencia de Abraham. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 16 οὐ γὰρ δήπου ἀγγέλων ἐπιλαμβάνεται, ἀλλὰ σπέρματος ἀβραὰμ ἐπιλαμβάνεται.
2:17 Por lo cual debía ser en todo semejante a sus hermanos, para venir a ser misericordioso y fiel sumo sacerdote en lo que a Dios se refiere, para expiar los pecados del pueblo. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 17 ὅθεν ὤφειλεν κατὰ πάντα τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ὁμοιωθῆναι, ἵνα ἐλεήμων γένηται καὶ πιστὸς ἀρχιερεὺς τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεόν, εἰς τὸ ἱλάσκεσθαι τὰς ἁμαρτίας τοῦ λαοῦ·
2:18 Pues en cuanto él mismo padeció siendo tentado, es poderoso para socorrer a los que son tentados. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. 18 ἐν ᾧ γὰρ πέπονθεν αὐτὸς πειρασθείς, δύναται τοῖς πειραζομένοις βοηθῆσαι.
3:1 Por tanto, hermanos santos, participantes del llamamiento celestial, considerad al apóstol y sumo sacerdote de nuestra profesión, Cristo Jesús; Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; 1 ὅθεν, ἀδελφοὶ ἅγιοι, κλήσεως ἐπουρανίου μέτοχοι, κατανοήσατε τὸν ἀπόστολον καὶ ἀρχιερέα τῆς ὁμολογίας ἡμῶν ἰησοῦν,
3:2 el cual es fiel al que le constituyó, como también lo fue Moisés en toda la casa de Dios. Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. 2 πιστὸν ὄντα τῶ ποιήσαντι αὐτὸν ὡς καὶ μωϊσῆς ἐν ὅλῳ τῶ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ.
3:3 Porque de tanto mayor gloria que Moisés es estimado digno éste, cuanto tiene mayor honra que la casa el que la hizo. For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. 3 πλείονος γὰρ οὖτος δόξης παρὰ μωϊσῆν ἠξίωται καθ᾽ ὅσον πλείονα τιμὴν ἔχει τοῦ οἴκου ὁ κατασκευάσας αὐτόν.
3:4 Porque toda casa es hecha por alguno; pero el que hizo todas las cosas es Dios. For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. 4 πᾶς γὰρ οἶκος κατασκευάζεται ὑπό τινος, ὁ δὲ πάντα κατασκευάσας θεός.
3:5 Y Moisés a la verdad fue fiel en toda la casa de Dios, como siervo, para testimonio de lo que se iba a decir; And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; 5 καὶ μωϊσῆς μὲν πιστὸς ἐν ὅλῳ τῶ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ ὡς θεράπων εἰς μαρτύριον τῶν λαληθησομένων,
3:6 pero Cristo como hijo sobre su casa, la cual casa somos nosotros, si retenemos firme hasta el fin la confianza y el gloriarnos en la esperanza. But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. 6 χριστὸς δὲ ὡς υἱὸς ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ· οὖ οἶκός ἐσμεν ἡμεῖς, ἐάνπερ τὴν παρρησίαν καὶ τὸ καύχημα τῆς ἐλπίδος κατάσχωμεν.
3:7 Por lo cual, como dice el Espíritu Santo: Si oyereis hoy su voz, Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 7 διό, καθὼς λέγει τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον, σήμερον ἐὰν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσητε,
3:8 No endurezcáis vuestros corazones, Como en la provocación, en el día de la tentación en el desierto, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 8 μὴ σκληρύνητε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὡς ἐν τῶ παραπικρασμῶ, κατὰ τὴν ἡμέραν τοῦ πειρασμοῦ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ,
3:9 Donde me tentaron vuestros padres; me probaron, Y vieron mis obras cuarenta años. When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 9 οὖ ἐπείρασαν οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν ἐν δοκιμασίᾳ καὶ εἶδον τὰ ἔργα μου
3:10 A causa de lo cual me disgusté contra esa generación, Y dije: Siempre andan vagando en su corazón, Y no han conocido mis caminos. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 10 τεσσεράκοντα ἔτη· διὸ προσώχθισα τῇ γενεᾷ ταύτῃ καὶ εἶπον, ἀεὶ πλανῶνται τῇ καρδίᾳ· αὐτοὶ δὲ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν τὰς ὁδούς μου·
3:11 Por tanto, juré en mi ira: No entrarán en mi reposo. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) 11 ὡς ὤμοσα ἐν τῇ ὀργῇ μου, εἰ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσίν μου.
3:12 Mirad, hermanos, que no haya en ninguno de vosotros corazón malo de incredulidad para apartarse del Dios vivo; Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 12 βλέπετε, ἀδελφοί, μήποτε ἔσται ἔν τινι ὑμῶν καρδία πονηρὰ ἀπιστίας ἐν τῶ ἀποστῆναι ἀπὸ θεοῦ ζῶντος,
3:13 antes exhortaos los unos a los otros cada día, entre tanto que se dice: Hoy; para que ninguno de vosotros se endurezca por el engaño del pecado. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 13 ἀλλὰ παρακαλεῖτε ἑαυτοὺς καθ᾽ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν, ἄχρις οὖ τὸ σήμερον καλεῖται, ἵνα μὴ σκληρυνθῇ τις ἐξ ὑμῶν ἀπάτῃ τῆς ἁμαρτίας·
3:14 Porque somos hechos participantes de Cristo, con tal que retengamos firme hasta el fin nuestra confianza del principio, For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 14 μέτοχοι γὰρ τοῦ χριστοῦ γεγόναμεν, ἐάνπερ τὴν ἀρχὴν τῆς ὑποστάσεως μέχρι τέλους βεβαίαν κατάσχωμεν,
3:15 entre tanto que se dice: Si oyereis hoy su voz, No endurezcáis vuestros corazones, como en la provocación. While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 15 ἐν τῶ λέγεσθαι, σήμερον ἐὰν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσητε, μὴ σκληρύνητε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν ὡς ἐν τῶ παραπικρασμῶ.
3:16 ¿Quiénes fueron los que, habiendo oído, le provocaron? ¿No fueron todos los que salieron de Egipto por mano de Moisés? For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 16 τίνες γὰρ ἀκούσαντες παρεπίκραναν; ἀλλ᾽ οὐ πάντες οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐξ αἰγύπτου διὰ μωϊσέως;
3:17 ¿Y con quiénes estuvo él disgustado cuarenta años? ¿No fue con los que pecaron, cuyos cuerpos cayeron en el desierto? But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 17 τίσιν δὲ προσώχθισεν τεσσεράκοντα ἔτη; οὐχὶ τοῖς ἁμαρτήσασιν, ὧν τὰ κῶλα ἔπεσεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ;
3:18 ¿Y a quiénes juró que no entrarían en su reposo, sino a aquellos que desobedecieron? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 18 τίσιν δὲ ὤμοσεν μὴ εἰσελεύσεσθαι εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν;
3:19 Y vemos que no pudieron entrar a causa de incredulidad. So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. 19 καὶ βλέπομεν ὅτι οὐκ ἠδυνήθησαν εἰσελθεῖν δι᾽ ἀπιστίαν.
4:1 Temamos, pues, no sea que permaneciendo aún la promesa de entrar en su reposo, alguno de vosotros parezca no haberlo alcanzado. Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 1 φοβηθῶμεν οὗν μήποτε καταλειπομένης ἐπαγγελίας εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ δοκῇ τις ἐξ ὑμῶν ὑστερηκέναι·
4:2 Porque también a nosotros se nos ha anunciado la buena nueva como a ellos; pero no les aprovechó el oír la palabra, por no ir acompañada de fe en los que la oyeron. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 2 καὶ γάρ ἐσμεν εὐηγγελισμένοι καθάπερ κἀκεῖνοι, ἀλλ᾽ οὐκ ὠφέλησεν ὁ λόγος τῆς ἀκοῆς ἐκείνους, μὴ συγκεκερασμένους τῇ πίστει τοῖς ἀκούσασιν.
4:3 Pero los que hemos creído entramos en el reposo, de la manera que dijo: Por tanto, juré en mi ira, No entrarán en mi reposo; aunque las obras suyas estaban acabadas desde la fundación del mundo. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 3 εἰσερχόμεθα γὰρ εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν οἱ πιστεύσαντες, καθὼς εἴρηκεν, ὡς ὤμοσα ἐν τῇ ὀργῇ μου, εἰ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσίν μου, καίτοι τῶν ἔργων ἀπὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου γενηθέντων.
4:4 Porque en cierto lugar dijo así del séptimo día: Y reposó Dios de todas sus obras en el séptimo día. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 4 εἴρηκεν γάρ που περὶ τῆς ἑβδόμης οὕτως, καὶ κατέπαυσεν ὁ θεὸς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἔργων αὐτοῦ·
4:5 Y otra vez aquí: No entrarán en mi reposo. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 5 καὶ ἐν τούτῳ πάλιν, εἰ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσίν μου.
4:6 Por lo tanto, puesto que falta que algunos entren en él, y aquellos a quienes primero se les anunció la buena nueva no entraron por causa de desobediencia, Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 6 ἐπεὶ οὗν ἀπολείπεται τινὰς εἰσελθεῖν εἰς αὐτήν, καὶ οἱ πρότερον εὐαγγελισθέντες οὐκ εἰσῆλθον δι᾽ ἀπείθειαν,
4:7 otra vez determina un día: Hoy, diciendo después de tanto tiempo, por medio de David, como se dijo: Si oyereis hoy su voz, No endurezcáis vuestros corazones. Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 7 πάλιν τινὰ ὁρίζει ἡμέραν, σήμερον, ἐν δαυὶδ λέγων μετὰ τοσοῦτον χρόνον, καθὼς προείρηται, σήμερον ἐὰν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσητε, μὴ σκληρύνητε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν.
4:8 Porque si Josué les hubiera dado el reposo, no hablaría después de otro día. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 8 εἰ γὰρ αὐτοὺς ἰησοῦς κατέπαυσεν, οὐκ ἂν περὶ ἄλλης ἐλάλει μετὰ ταῦτα ἡμέρας.
4:9 Por tanto, queda un reposo para el pueblo de Dios. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 9 ἄρα ἀπολείπεται σαββατισμὸς τῶ λαῶ τοῦ θεοῦ·
4:10 Porque el que ha entrado en su reposo, también ha reposado de sus obras, como Dios de las suyas. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 10 ὁ γὰρ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ αὐτὸς κατέπαυσεν ἀπὸ τῶν ἔργων αὐτοῦ ὥσπερ ἀπὸ τῶν ἰδίων ὁ θεός.
4:11 Procuremos, pues, entrar en aquel reposo, para que ninguno caiga en semejante ejemplo de desobediencia. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 11 σπουδάσωμεν οὗν εἰσελθεῖν εἰς ἐκείνην τὴν κατάπαυσιν, ἵνα μὴ ἐν τῶ αὐτῶ τις ὑποδείγματι πέσῃ τῆς ἀπειθείας.
4:12 Porque la palabra de Dios es viva y eficaz, y más cortante que toda espada de dos filos; y penetra hasta partir el alma y el espíritu, las coyunturas y los tuétanos, y discierne los pensamientos y las intenciones del corazón. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 12 ζῶν γὰρ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐνεργὴς καὶ τομώτερος ὑπὲρ πᾶσαν μάχαιραν δίστομον καὶ διϊκνούμενος ἄχρι μερισμοῦ ψυχῆς καὶ πνεύματος, ἁρμῶν τε καὶ μυελῶν, καὶ κριτικὸς ἐνθυμήσεων καὶ ἐννοιῶν καρδίας·
4:13 Y no hay cosa creada que no sea manifiesta en su presencia; antes bien todas las cosas están desnudas y abiertas a los ojos de aquel a quien tenemos que dar cuenta. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 13 καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν κτίσις ἀφανὴς ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ, πάντα δὲ γυμνὰ καὶ τετραχηλισμένα τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ, πρὸς ὃν ἡμῖν ὁ λόγος.
4:14 Por tanto, teniendo un gran sumo sacerdote que traspasó los cielos, Jesús el Hijo de Dios, retengamos nuestra profesión. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 14 ἔχοντες οὗν ἀρχιερέα μέγαν διεληλυθότα τοὺς οὐρανούς, ἰησοῦν τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ θεοῦ, κρατῶμεν τῆς ὁμολογίας·
4:15 Porque no tenemos un sumo sacerdote que no pueda compadecerse de nuestras debilidades, sino uno que fue tentado en todo según nuestra semejanza, pero sin pecado. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 15 οὐ γὰρ ἔχομεν ἀρχιερέα μὴ δυνάμενον συμπαθῆσαι ταῖς ἀσθενείαις ἡμῶν, πεπειρασμένον δὲ κατὰ πάντα καθ᾽ ὁμοιότητα χωρὶς ἁμαρτίας.
4:16 Acerquémonos, pues, confiadamente al trono de la gracia, para alcanzar misericordia y hallar gracia para el oportuno socorro. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. 16 προσερχώμεθα οὗν μετὰ παρρησίας τῶ θρόνῳ τῆς χάριτος, ἵνα λάβωμεν ἔλεος καὶ χάριν εὕρωμεν εἰς εὔκαιρον βοήθειαν.
5:1 Porque todo sumo sacerdote tomado de entre los hombres es constituido a favor de los hombres en lo que a Dios se refiere, para que presente ofrendas y sacrificios por los pecados; For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: 1 πᾶς γὰρ ἀρχιερεὺς ἐξ ἀνθρώπων λαμβανόμενος ὑπὲρ ἀνθρώπων καθίσταται τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεόν, ἵνα προσφέρῃ δῶρά τε καὶ θυσίας ὑπὲρ ἁμαρτιῶν,
5:2 para que se muestre paciente con los ignorantes y extraviados, puesto que él también está rodeado de debilidad; Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity. 2 μετριοπαθεῖν δυνάμενος τοῖς ἀγνοοῦσιν καὶ πλανωμένοις, ἐπεὶ καὶ αὐτὸς περίκειται ἀσθένειαν,
5:3 y por causa de ella debe ofrecer por los pecados, tanto por sí mismo como también por el pueblo. And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. 3 καὶ δι᾽ αὐτὴν ὀφείλει καθὼς περὶ τοῦ λαοῦ οὕτως καὶ περὶ αὐτοῦ προσφέρειν περὶ ἁμαρτιῶν.
5:4 Y nadie toma para sí esta honra, sino el que es llamado por Dios, como lo fue Aarón. And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. 4 καὶ οὐχ ἑαυτῶ τις λαμβάνει τὴν τιμήν, ἀλλὰ καλούμενος ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ, καθώσπερ καὶ ἀαρών.
5:5 Así tampoco Cristo se glorificó a sí mismo haciéndose sumo sacerdote, sino el que le dijo: Tú eres mi Hijo, Yo te he engendrado hoy. So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. 5 οὕτως καὶ ὁ χριστὸς οὐχ ἑαυτὸν ἐδόξασεν γενηθῆναι ἀρχιερέα, ἀλλ᾽ ὁ λαλήσας πρὸς αὐτόν, υἱός μου εἶ σύ, ἐγὼ σήμερον γεγέννηκά σε·
5:6 Como también dice en otro lugar: Tú eres sacerdote para siempre, Según el orden de Melquisedec. As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. 6 καθὼς καὶ ἐν ἑτέρῳ λέγει, σὺ ἱερεὺς εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα κατὰ τὴν τάξιν μελχισέδεκ.
5:7 Y Cristo, en los días de su carne, ofreciendo ruegos y súplicas con gran clamor y lágrimas al que le podía librar de la muerte, fue oído a causa de su temor reverente. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 7 ὃς ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ, δεήσεις τε καὶ ἱκετηρίας πρὸς τὸν δυνάμενον σῴζειν αὐτὸν ἐκ θανάτου μετὰ κραυγῆς ἰσχυρᾶς καὶ δακρύων προσενέγκας καὶ εἰσακουσθεὶς ἀπὸ τῆς εὐλαβείας,
5:8 Y aunque era Hijo, por lo que padeció aprendió la obediencia; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 8 καίπερ ὢν υἱὸς ἔμαθεν ἀφ᾽ ὧν ἔπαθεν τὴν ὑπακοήν·
5:9 y habiendo sido perfeccionado, vino a ser autor de eterna salvación para todos los que le obedecen; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; 9 καὶ τελειωθεὶς ἐγένετο πᾶσιν τοῖς ὑπακούουσιν αὐτῶ αἴτιος σωτηρίας αἰωνίου,
5:10 y fue declarado por Dios sumo sacerdote según el orden de Melquisedec. Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. 10 προσαγορευθεὶς ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ ἀρχιερεὺς κατὰ τὴν τάξιν μελχισέδεκ.
5:11 Acerca de esto tenemos mucho que decir, y difícil de explicar, por cuanto os habéis hecho tardos para oír. Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. 11 περὶ οὖ πολὺς ἡμῖν ὁ λόγος καὶ δυσερμήνευτος λέγειν, ἐπεὶ νωθροὶ γεγόνατε ταῖς ἀκοαῖς.
5:12 Porque debiendo ser ya maestros, después de tanto tiempo, tenéis necesidad de que se os vuelva a enseñar cuáles son los primeros rudimentos de las palabras de Dios; y habéis llegado a ser tales que tenéis necesidad de leche, y no de alimento sólido. For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 12 καὶ γὰρ ὀφείλοντες εἶναι διδάσκαλοι διὰ τὸν χρόνον, πάλιν χρείαν ἔχετε τοῦ διδάσκειν ὑμᾶς τινὰ τὰ στοιχεῖα τῆς ἀρχῆς τῶν λογίων τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ γεγόνατε χρείαν ἔχοντες γάλακτος, καὶ οὐ στερεᾶς τροφῆς.
5:13 Y todo aquel que participa de la leche es inexperto en la palabra de justicia, porque es niño; For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 13 πᾶς γὰρ ὁ μετέχων γάλακτος ἄπειρος λόγου δικαιοσύνης, νήπιος γάρ ἐστιν·
5:14 pero el alimento sólido es para los que han alcanzado madurez, para los que por el uso tienen los sentidos ejercitados en el discernimiento del bien y del mal. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. 14 τελείων δέ ἐστιν ἡ στερεὰ τροφή, τῶν διὰ τὴν ἕξιν τὰ αἰσθητήρια γεγυμνασμένα ἐχόντων πρὸς διάκρισιν καλοῦ τε καὶ κακοῦ.
6:1 Por tanto, dejando ya los rudimentos de la doctrina de Cristo, vamos adelante a la perfección; no echando otra vez el fundamento del arrepentimiento de obras muertas, de la fe en Dios, Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 1 διὸ ἀφέντες τὸν τῆς ἀρχῆς τοῦ χριστοῦ λόγον ἐπὶ τὴν τελειότητα φερώμεθα, μὴ πάλιν θεμέλιον καταβαλλόμενοι μετανοίας ἀπὸ νεκρῶν ἔργων, καὶ πίστεως ἐπὶ θεόν,
6:2 de la doctrina de bautismos, de la imposición de manos, de la resurrección de los muertos y del juicio eterno. Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 2 βαπτισμῶν διδαχῆς, ἐπιθέσεώς τε χειρῶν, ἀναστάσεώς τε νεκρῶν, καὶ κρίματος αἰωνίου.
6:3 Y esto haremos, si Dios en verdad lo permite. And this will we do, if God permit. 3 καὶ τοῦτο ποιήσομεν ἐάνπερ ἐπιτρέπῃ ὁ θεός.
6:4 Porque es imposible que los que una vez fueron iluminados y gustaron del don celestial, y fueron hechos partícipes del Espíritu Santo, For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 4 ἀδύνατον γὰρ τοὺς ἅπαξ φωτισθέντας, γευσαμένους τε τῆς δωρεᾶς τῆς ἐπουρανίου καὶ μετόχους γενηθέντας πνεύματος ἁγίου
6:5 y asimismo gustaron de la buena palabra de Dios y los poderes del siglo venidero, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 5 καὶ καλὸν γευσαμένους θεοῦ ῥῆμα δυνάμεις τε μέλλοντος αἰῶνος,
6:6 y recayeron, sean otra vez renovados para arrepentimiento, crucificando de nuevo para sí mismos al Hijo de Dios y exponiéndole a vituperio. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 6 καὶ παραπεσόντας, πάλιν ἀνακαινίζειν εἰς μετάνοιαν, ἀνασταυροῦντας ἑαυτοῖς τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ παραδειγματίζοντας.
6:7 Porque la tierra que bebe la lluvia que muchas veces cae sobre ella, y produce hierba provechosa a aquellos por los cuales es labrada, recibe bendición de Dios; For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 7 γῆ γὰρ ἡ πιοῦσα τὸν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς ἐρχόμενον πολλάκις ὑετόν, καὶ τίκτουσα βοτάνην εὔθετον ἐκείνοις δι᾽ οὓς καὶ γεωργεῖται, μεταλαμβάνει εὐλογίας ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ·
6:8 pero la que produce espinos y abrojos es reprobada, está próxima a ser maldecida, y su fin es el ser quemada. But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. 8 ἐκφέρουσα δὲ ἀκάνθας καὶ τριβόλους ἀδόκιμος καὶ κατάρας ἐγγύς, ἧς τὸ τέλος εἰς καῦσιν.
6:9 Pero en cuanto a vosotros, oh amados, estamos persuadidos de cosas mejores, y que pertenecen a la salvación, aunque hablamos así. But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. 9 πεπείσμεθα δὲ περὶ ὑμῶν, ἀγαπητοί, τὰ κρείσσονα καὶ ἐχόμενα σωτηρίας, εἰ καὶ οὕτως λαλοῦμεν·
6:10 Porque Dios no es injusto para olvidar vuestra obra y el trabajo de amor que habéis mostrado hacia su nombre, habiendo servido a los santos y sirviéndoles aún. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 10 οὐ γὰρ ἄδικος ὁ θεὸς ἐπιλαθέσθαι τοῦ ἔργου ὑμῶν καὶ τῆς ἀγάπης ἧς ἐνεδείξασθε εἰς τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, διακονήσαντες τοῖς ἁγίοις καὶ διακονοῦντες.
6:11 Pero deseamos que cada uno de vosotros muestre la misma solicitud hasta el fin, para plena certeza de la esperanza, And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 11 ἐπιθυμοῦμεν δὲ ἕκαστον ὑμῶν τὴν αὐτὴν ἐνδείκνυσθαι σπουδὴν πρὸς τὴν πληροφορίαν τῆς ἐλπίδος ἄχρι τέλους,
6:12 a fin de que no os hagáis perezosos, sino imitadores de aquellos que por la fe y la paciencia heredan las promesas. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 12 ἵνα μὴ νωθροὶ γένησθε, μιμηταὶ δὲ τῶν διὰ πίστεως καὶ μακροθυμίας κληρονομούντων τὰς ἐπαγγελίας.
6:13 Porque cuando Dios hizo la promesa a Abraham, no pudiendo jurar por otro mayor, juró por sí mismo, For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 13 τῶ γὰρ ἀβραὰμ ἐπαγγειλάμενος ὁ θεός, ἐπεὶ κατ᾽ οὐδενὸς εἶχεν μείζονος ὀμόσαι, ὤμοσεν καθ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ,
6:14 diciendo: De cierto te bendeciré con abundancia y te multiplicaré grandemente. Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 14 λέγων, εἰ μὴν εὐλογῶν εὐλογήσω σε καὶ πληθύνων πληθυνῶ σε·
6:15 Y habiendo esperado con paciencia, alcanzó la promesa. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 15 καὶ οὕτως μακροθυμήσας ἐπέτυχεν τῆς ἐπαγγελίας.
6:16 Porque los hombres ciertamente juran por uno mayor que ellos, y para ellos el fin de toda controversia es el juramento para confirmación. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. 16 ἄνθρωποι γὰρ κατὰ τοῦ μείζονος ὀμνύουσιν, καὶ πάσης αὐτοῖς ἀντιλογίας πέρας εἰς βεβαίωσιν ὁ ὅρκος·
6:17 Por lo cual, queriendo Dios mostrar más abundantemente a los herederos de la promesa la inmutabilidad de su consejo, interpuso juramento; Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 17 ἐν ᾧ περισσότερον βουλόμενος ὁ θεὸς ἐπιδεῖξαι τοῖς κληρονόμοις τῆς ἐπαγγελίας τὸ ἀμετάθετον τῆς βουλῆς αὐτοῦ ἐμεσίτευσεν ὅρκῳ,
6:18 para que por dos cosas inmutables, en las cuales es imposible que Dios mienta, tengamos un fortísimo consuelo los que hemos acudido para asirnos de la esperanza puesta delante de nosotros. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 18 ἵνα διὰ δύο πραγμάτων ἀμεταθέτων, ἐν οἷς ἀδύνατον ψεύσασθαι τὸν θεόν, ἰσχυρὰν παράκλησιν ἔχωμεν οἱ καταφυγόντες κρατῆσαι τῆς προκειμένης ἐλπίδος·
6:19 La cual tenemos como segura y firme ancla del alma, y que penetra hasta dentro del velo, Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; 19 ἣν ὡς ἄγκυραν ἔχομεν τῆς ψυχῆς, ἀσφαλῆ τε καὶ βεβαίαν καὶ εἰσερχομένην εἰς τὸ ἐσώτερον τοῦ καταπετάσματος,
6:20 donde Jesús entró por nosotros como precursor, hecho sumo sacerdote para siempre según el orden de Melquisedec. Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. 20 ὅπου πρόδρομος ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν εἰσῆλθεν ἰησοῦς, κατὰ τὴν τάξιν μελχισέδεκ ἀρχιερεὺς γενόμενος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.
7:1 Porque este Melquisedec, rey de Salem, sacerdote del Dios Altísimo, que salió a recibir a Abraham que volvía de la derrota de los reyes, y le bendijo, For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; 1 οὖτος γὰρ ὁ μελχισέδεκ, βασιλεὺς σαλήμ, ἱερεὺς τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου, ὁ συναντήσας ἀβραὰμ ὑποστρέφοντι ἀπὸ τῆς κοπῆς τῶν βασιλέων καὶ εὐλογήσας αὐτόν,
7:2 a quien asimismo dio Abraham los diezmos de todo; cuyo nombre significa primeramente Rey de justicia, y también Rey de Salem, esto es, Rey de paz; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; 2 ᾧ καὶ δεκάτην ἀπὸ πάντων ἐμέρισεν ἀβραάμ, πρῶτον μὲν ἑρμηνευόμενος βασιλεὺς δικαιοσύνης ἔπειτα δὲ καὶ βασιλεὺς σαλήμ, ὅ ἐστιν βασιλεὺς εἰρήνης,
7:3 sin padre, sin madre, sin genealogía; que ni tiene principio de días, ni fin de vida, sino hecho semejante al Hijo de Dios, permanece sacerdote para siempre. Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. 3 ἀπάτωρ, ἀμήτωρ, ἀγενεαλόγητος, μήτε ἀρχὴν ἡμερῶν μήτε ζωῆς τέλος ἔχων, ἀφωμοιωμένος δὲ τῶ υἱῶ τοῦ θεοῦ, μένει ἱερεὺς εἰς τὸ διηνεκές.
7:4 Considerad, pues, cuán grande era éste, a quien aun Abraham el patriarca dio diezmos del botín. Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. 4 θεωρεῖτε δὲ πηλίκος οὖτος ᾧ καὶ δεκάτην ἀβραὰμ ἔδωκεν ἐκ τῶν ἀκροθινίων ὁ πατριάρχης.
7:5 Ciertamente los que de entre los hijos de Leví reciben el sacerdocio, tienen mandamiento de tomar del pueblo los diezmos según la ley, es decir, de sus hermanos, aunque éstos también hayan salido de los lomos de Abraham. And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham: 5 καὶ οἱ μὲν ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν λευὶ τὴν ἱερατείαν λαμβάνοντες ἐντολὴν ἔχουσιν ἀποδεκατοῦν τὸν λαὸν κατὰ τὸν νόμον, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτῶν, καίπερ ἐξεληλυθότας ἐκ τῆς ὀσφύος ἀβραάμ·
7:6 Pero aquel cuya genealogía no es contada de entre ellos, tomó de Abraham los diezmos, y bendijo al que tenía las promesas. But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. 6 ὁ δὲ μὴ γενεαλογούμενος ἐξ αὐτῶν δεδεκάτωκεν ἀβραάμ, καὶ τὸν ἔχοντα τὰς ἐπαγγελίας εὐλόγηκεν.
7:7 Y sin discusión alguna, el menor es bendecido por el mayor. And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better. 7 χωρὶς δὲ πάσης ἀντιλογίας τὸ ἔλαττον ὑπὸ τοῦ κρείττονος εὐλογεῖται.
7:8 Y aquí ciertamente reciben los diezmos hombres mortales; pero allí, uno de quien se da testimonio de que vive. And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. 8 καὶ ὧδε μὲν δεκάτας ἀποθνῄσκοντες ἄνθρωποι λαμβάνουσιν, ἐκεῖ δὲ μαρτυρούμενος ὅτι ζῇ.
7:9 Y por decirlo así, en Abraham pagó el diezmo también Leví, que recibe los diezmos; And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. 9 καὶ ὡς ἔπος εἰπεῖν, δι᾽ ἀβραὰμ καὶ λευὶ ὁ δεκάτας λαμβάνων δεδεκάτωται,
7:10 porque aún estaba en los lomos de su padre cuando Melquisedec le salió al encuentro. For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. 10 ἔτι γὰρ ἐν τῇ ὀσφύϊ τοῦ πατρὸς ἦν ὅτε συνήντησεν αὐτῶ μελχισέδεκ.
7:11 Si, pues, la perfección fuera por el sacerdocio levítico (porque bajo él recibió el pueblo la ley), ¿qué necesidad habría aún de que se levantase otro sacerdote, según el orden de Melquisedec, y que no fuese llamado según el orden de Aarón? If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? 11 εἰ μὲν οὗν τελείωσις διὰ τῆς λευιτικῆς ἱερωσύνης ἦν, ὁ λαὸς γὰρ ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς νενομοθέτηται, τίς ἔτι χρεία κατὰ τὴν τάξιν μελχισέδεκ ἕτερον ἀνίστασθαι ἱερέα καὶ οὐ κατὰ τὴν τάξιν ἀαρὼν λέγεσθαι;
7:12 Porque cambiado el sacerdocio, necesario es que haya también cambio de ley; For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. 12 μετατιθεμένης γὰρ τῆς ἱερωσύνης ἐξ ἀνάγκης καὶ νόμου μετάθεσις γίνεται.
7:13 y aquel de quien se dice esto, es de otra tribu, de la cual nadie sirvió al altar. For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. 13 ἐφ᾽ ὃν γὰρ λέγεται ταῦτα φυλῆς ἑτέρας μετέσχηκεν, ἀφ᾽ ἧς οὐδεὶς προσέσχηκεν τῶ θυσιαστηρίῳ·
7:14 Porque manifiesto es que nuestro Señor vino de la tribu de Judá, de la cual nada habló Moisés tocante al sacerdocio. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. 14 πρόδηλον γὰρ ὅτι ἐξ ἰούδα ἀνατέταλκεν ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν, εἰς ἣν φυλὴν περὶ ἱερέων οὐδὲν μωϊσῆς ἐλάλησεν.
7:15 Y esto es aun más manifiesto, si a semejanza de Melquisedec se levanta un sacerdote distinto, And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, 15 καὶ περισσότερον ἔτι κατάδηλόν ἐστιν, εἰ κατὰ τὴν ὁμοιότητα μελχισέδεκ ἀνίσταται ἱερεὺς ἕτερος,
7:16 no constituido conforme a la ley del mandamiento acerca de la descendencia, sino según el poder de una vida indestructible. Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. 16 ὃς οὐ κατὰ νόμον ἐντολῆς σαρκίνης γέγονεν ἀλλὰ κατὰ δύναμιν ζωῆς ἀκαταλύτου,
7:17 Pues se da testimonio de él: Tú eres sacerdote para siempre, Según el orden de Melquisedec. For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. 17 μαρτυρεῖται γὰρ ὅτι σὺ ἱερεὺς εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα κατὰ τὴν τάξιν μελχισέδεκ.
7:18 Queda, pues, abrogado el mandamiento anterior a causa de su debilidad e ineficacia For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. 18 ἀθέτησις μὲν γὰρ γίνεται προαγούσης ἐντολῆς διὰ τὸ αὐτῆς ἀσθενὲς καὶ ἀνωφελές,
7:19 (pues nada perfeccionó la ley), y de la introducción de una mejor esperanza, por la cual nos acercamos a Dios. For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. 19 οὐδὲν γὰρ ἐτελείωσεν ὁ νόμος, ἐπεισαγωγὴ δὲ κρείττονος ἐλπίδος, δι᾽ ἧς ἐγγίζομεν τῶ θεῶ.
7:20 Y esto no fue hecho sin juramento; And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest: 20 καὶ καθ᾽ ὅσον οὐ χωρὶς ὁρκωμοσίας, οἱ μὲν γὰρ χωρὶς ὁρκωμοσίας εἰσὶν ἱερεῖς γεγονότες,
7:21 porque los otros ciertamente sin juramento fueron hechos sacerdotes; pero éste, con el juramento del que le dijo: Juró el Señor, y no se arrepentirá: Tú eres sacerdote para siempre, Según el orden de Melquisedec. (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:) 21 ὁ δὲ μετὰ ὁρκωμοσίας διὰ τοῦ λέγοντος πρὸς αὐτόν, ὤμοσεν κύριος, καὶ οὐ μεταμεληθήσεται, σὺ ἱερεὺς εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα,
7:22 Por tanto, Jesús es hecho fiador de un mejor pacto. By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. 22 κατὰ τοσοῦτο καὶ κρείττονος διαθήκης γέγονεν ἔγγυος ἰησοῦς.
7:23 Y los otros sacerdotes llegaron a ser muchos, debido a que por la muerte no podían continuar; And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: 23 καὶ οἱ μὲν πλείονές εἰσιν γεγονότες ἱερεῖς διὰ τὸ θανάτῳ κωλύεσθαι παραμένειν·
7:24 mas éste, por cuanto permanece para siempre, tiene un sacerdocio inmutable; But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. 24 ὁ δὲ διὰ τὸ μένειν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἀπαράβατον ἔχει τὴν ἱερωσύνην·
7:25 por lo cual puede también salvar perpetuamente a los que por él se acercan a Dios, viviendo siempre para interceder por ellos. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. 25 ὅθεν καὶ σῴζειν εἰς τὸ παντελὲς δύναται τοὺς προσερχομένους δι᾽ αὐτοῦ τῶ θεῶ, πάντοτε ζῶν εἰς τὸ ἐντυγχάνειν ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν.
7:26 Porque tal sumo sacerdote nos convenía: santo, inocente, sin mancha, apartado de los pecadores, y hecho más sublime que los cielos; For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; 26 τοιοῦτος γὰρ ἡμῖν καὶ ἔπρεπεν ἀρχιερεύς, ὅσιος, ἄκακος, ἀμίαντος, κεχωρισμένος ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν, καὶ ὑψηλότερος τῶν οὐρανῶν γενόμενος·
7:27 que no tiene necesidad cada día, como aquellos sumos sacerdotes, de ofrecer primero sacrificios por sus propios pecados, y luego por los del pueblo; porque esto lo hizo una vez para siempre, ofreciéndose a sí mismo. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. 27 ὃς οὐκ ἔχει καθ᾽ ἡμέραν ἀνάγκην, ὥσπερ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς, πρότερον ὑπὲρ τῶν ἰδίων ἁμαρτιῶν θυσίας ἀναφέρειν, ἔπειτα τῶν τοῦ λαοῦ· τοῦτο γὰρ ἐποίησεν ἐφάπαξ ἑαυτὸν ἀνενέγκας.
7:28 Porque la ley constituye sumos sacerdotes a débiles hombres; pero la palabra del juramento, posterior a la ley, al Hijo, hecho perfecto para siempre. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore. 28 ὁ νόμος γὰρ ἀνθρώπους καθίστησιν ἀρχιερεῖς ἔχοντας ἀσθένειαν, ὁ λόγος δὲ τῆς ὁρκωμοσίας τῆς μετὰ τὸν νόμον υἱὸν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τετελειωμένον.
8:1 Ahora bien, el punto principal de lo que venimos diciendo es que tenemos tal sumo sacerdote, el cual se sentó a la diestra del trono de la Majestad en los cielos, Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 1 κεφάλαιον δὲ ἐπὶ τοῖς λεγομένοις, τοιοῦτον ἔχομεν ἀρχιερέα, ὃς ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τοῦ θρόνου τῆς μεγαλωσύνης ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς,
8:2 ministro del santuario, y de aquel verdadero tabernáculo que levantó el Señor, y no el hombre. A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. 2 τῶν ἁγίων λειτουργὸς καὶ τῆς σκηνῆς τῆς ἀληθινῆς, ἣν ἔπηξεν ὁ κύριος, οὐκ ἄνθρωπος.
8:3 Porque todo sumo sacerdote está constituido para presentar ofrendas y sacrificios; por lo cual es necesario que también éste tenga algo que ofrecer. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. 3 πᾶς γὰρ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰς τὸ προσφέρειν δῶρά τε καὶ θυσίας καθίσταται· ὅθεν ἀναγκαῖον ἔχειν τι καὶ τοῦτον ὃ προσενέγκῃ.
8:4 Así que, si estuviese sobre la tierra, ni siquiera sería sacerdote, habiendo aún sacerdotes que presentan las ofrendas según la ley; For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 4 εἰ μὲν οὗν ἦν ἐπὶ γῆς, οὐδ᾽ ἂν ἦν ἱερεύς, ὄντων τῶν προσφερόντων κατὰ νόμον τὰ δῶρα·
8:5 los cuales sirven a lo que es figura y sombra de las cosas celestiales, como se le advirtió a Moisés cuando iba a erigir el tabernáculo, diciéndole: Mira, haz todas las cosas conforme al modelo que se te ha mostrado en el monte. Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. 5 οἵτινες ὑποδείγματι καὶ σκιᾷ λατρεύουσιν τῶν ἐπουρανίων, καθὼς κεχρημάτισται μωϊσῆς μέλλων ἐπιτελεῖν τὴν σκηνήν, ὅρα γάρ, φησίν, ποιήσεις πάντα κατὰ τὸν τύπον τὸν δειχθέντα σοι ἐν τῶ ὄρει·
8:6 Pero ahora tanto mejor ministerio es el suyo, cuanto es mediador de un mejor pacto, establecido sobre mejores promesas. But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 6 νυνὶ δὲ διαφορωτέρας τέτυχεν λειτουργίας, ὅσῳ καὶ κρείττονός ἐστιν διαθήκης μεσίτης, ἥτις ἐπὶ κρείττοσιν ἐπαγγελίαις νενομοθέτηται.
8:7 Porque si aquel primero hubiera sido sin defecto, ciertamente no se hubiera procurado lugar para el segundo. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 7 εἰ γὰρ ἡ πρώτη ἐκείνη ἦν ἄμεμπτος, οὐκ ἂν δευτέρας ἐζητεῖτο τόπος·
8:8 Porque reprendiéndolos dice: He aquí vienen días, dice el Señor, En que estableceré con la casa de Israel y la casa de Judá un nuevo pacto; For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 8 μεμφόμενος γὰρ αὐτοὺς λέγει, ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται, λέγει κύριος, καὶ συντελέσω ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον ἰσραὴλ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον ἰούδα διαθήκην καινήν,
8:9 No como el pacto que hice con sus padres El día que los tomé de la mano para sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto; Porque ellos no permanecieron en mi pacto, Y yo me desentendí de ellos, dice el Señor. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 9 οὐ κατὰ τὴν διαθήκην ἣν ἐποίησα τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ἐπιλαβομένου μου τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν ἐξαγαγεῖν αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς αἰγύπτου, ὅτι αὐτοὶ οὐκ ἐνέμειναν ἐν τῇ διαθήκῃ μου, κἀγὼ ἠμέλησα αὐτῶν, λέγει κύριος.
8:10 Por lo cual, este es el pacto que haré con la casa de Israel Después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: Pondré mis leyes en la mente de ellos, Y sobre su corazón las escribiré; Y seré a ellos por Dios, Y ellos me serán a mí por pueblo; For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 10 ὅτι αὕτη ἡ διαθήκη ἣν διαθήσομαι τῶ οἴκῳ ἰσραὴλ μετὰ τὰς ἡμέρας ἐκείνας, λέγει κύριος, διδοὺς νόμους μου εἰς τὴν διάνοιαν αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐπὶ καρδίας αὐτῶν ἐπιγράψω αὐτούς, καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς εἰς θεὸν καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔσονταί μοι εἰς λαόν.
8:11 Y ninguno enseñará a su prójimo, Ni ninguno a su hermano, diciendo: Conoce al Señor; Porque todos me conocerán, Desde el menor hasta el mayor de ellos. And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 11 καὶ οὐ μὴ διδάξωσιν ἕκαστος τὸν πολίτην αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστος τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ, λέγων, γνῶθι τὸν κύριον, ὅτι πάντες εἰδήσουσίν με ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου αὐτῶν.
8:12 Porque seré propicio a sus injusticias, Y nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados y de sus iniquidades. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 12 ὅτι ἵλεως ἔσομαι ταῖς ἀδικίαις αὐτῶν, καὶ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ μνησθῶ ἔτι.
8:13 Al decir: Nuevo pacto, ha dado por viejo al primero; y lo que se da por viejo y se envejece, está próximo a desaparecer. In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. 13 ἐν τῶ λέγειν καινὴν πεπαλαίωκεν τὴν πρώτην· τὸ δὲ παλαιούμενον καὶ γηράσκον ἐγγὺς ἀφανισμοῦ.
9:1 Ahora bien, aun el primer pacto tenía ordenanzas de culto y un santuario terrenal. Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. 1 εἶχε μὲν οὗν καὶ ἡ πρώτη δικαιώματα λατρείας τό τε ἅγιον κοσμικόν.
9:2 Porque el tabernáculo estaba dispuesto así: en la primera parte, llamada el Lugar Santo, estaban el candelabro, la mesa y los panes de la proposición. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. 2 σκηνὴ γὰρ κατεσκευάσθη ἡ πρώτη ἐν ᾗ ἥ τε λυχνία καὶ ἡ τράπεζα καὶ ἡ πρόθεσις τῶν ἄρτων, ἥτις λέγεται ἅγια·
9:3 Tras el segundo velo estaba la parte del tabernáculo llamada el Lugar Santísimo, And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; 3 μετὰ δὲ τὸ δεύτερον καταπέτασμα σκηνὴ ἡ λεγομένη ἅγια ἁγίων,
9:4 el cual tenía un incensario de oro y el arca del pacto cubierta de oro por todas partes, en la que estaba una urna de oro que contenía el maná, la vara de Aarón que reverdeció, y las tablas del pacto; Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; 4 χρυσοῦν ἔχουσα θυμιατήριον καὶ τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης περικεκαλυμμένην πάντοθεν χρυσίῳ, ἐν ᾗ στάμνος χρυσῆ ἔχουσα τὸ μάννα καὶ ἡ ῥάβδος ἀαρὼν ἡ βλαστήσασα καὶ αἱ πλάκες τῆς διαθήκης,
9:5 y sobre ella los querubines de gloria que cubrían el propiciatorio; de las cuales cosas no se puede ahora hablar en detalle. And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. 5 ὑπεράνω δὲ αὐτῆς χερουβὶν δόξης κατασκιάζοντα τὸ ἱλαστήριον· περὶ ὧν οὐκ ἔστιν νῦν λέγειν κατὰ μέρος.
9:6 Y así dispuestas estas cosas, en la primera parte del tabernáculo entran los sacerdotes continuamente para cumplir los oficios del culto; Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. 6 τούτων δὲ οὕτως κατεσκευασμένων, εἰς μὲν τὴν πρώτην σκηνὴν διὰ παντὸς εἰσίασιν οἱ ἱερεῖς τὰς λατρείας ἐπιτελοῦντες,
9:7 pero en la segunda parte, sólo el sumo sacerdote una vez al año, no sin sangre, la cual ofrece por sí mismo y por los pecados de ignorancia del pueblo; But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: 7 εἰς δὲ τὴν δευτέραν ἅπαξ τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ μόνος ὁ ἀρχιερεύς, οὐ χωρὶς αἵματος, ὃ προσφέρει ὑπὲρ ἑαυτοῦ καὶ τῶν τοῦ λαοῦ ἀγνοημάτων,
9:8 dando el Espíritu Santo a entender con esto que aún no se había manifestado el camino al Lugar Santísimo, entre tanto que la primera parte del tabernáculo estuviese en pie. The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 8 τοῦτο δηλοῦντος τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ ἁγίου, μήπω πεφανερῶσθαι τὴν τῶν ἁγίων ὁδὸν ἔτι τῆς πρώτης σκηνῆς ἐχούσης στάσιν,
9:9 Lo cual es símbolo para el tiempo presente, según el cual se presentan ofrendas y sacrificios que no pueden hacer perfecto, en cuanto a la conciencia, al que practica ese culto, Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 9 ἥτις παραβολὴ εἰς τὸν καιρὸν τὸν ἐνεστηκότα, καθ᾽ ἣν δῶρά τε καὶ θυσίαι προσφέρονται μὴ δυνάμεναι κατὰ συνείδησιν τελειῶσαι τὸν λατρεύοντα,
9:10 ya que consiste sólo de comidas y bebidas, de diversas abluciones, y ordenanzas acerca de la carne, impuestas hasta el tiempo de restaurar las cosas. [Nota: Bbilias adulteradas usan el termino “nuevo orden” en lugar de “restaurar”] Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 10 μόνον ἐπὶ βρώμασιν καὶ πόμασιν καὶ διαφόροις βαπτισμοῖς, δικαιώματα σαρκὸς μέχρι καιροῦ διορθώσεως ἐπικείμενα.
9:11 Pero estando ya presente Cristo, sumo sacerdote de los bienes venideros, por el más amplio y más perfecto tabernáculo, no hecho de manos, es decir, no de esta creación, But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 11 χριστὸς δὲ παραγενόμενος ἀρχιερεὺς τῶν γενομένων ἀγαθῶν διὰ τῆς μείζονος καὶ τελειοτέρας σκηνῆς οὐ χειροποιήτου, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν οὐ ταύτης τῆς κτίσεως,
9:12 y no por sangre de machos cabríos ni de becerros, sino por su propia sangre, entró una vez para siempre en el Lugar Santísimo, habiendo obtenido eterna redención. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 12 οὐδὲ δι᾽ αἵματος τράγων καὶ μόσχων διὰ δὲ τοῦ ἰδίου αἵματος, εἰσῆλθεν ἐφάπαξ εἰς τὰ ἅγια, αἰωνίαν λύτρωσιν εὑράμενος.
9:13 Porque si la sangre de los toros y de los machos cabríos, y las cenizas de la becerra rociadas a los inmundos, santifican para la purificación de la carne, For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 13 εἰ γὰρ τὸ αἷμα τράγων καὶ ταύρων καὶ σποδὸς δαμάλεως ῥαντίζουσα τοὺς κεκοινωμένους ἁγιάζει πρὸς τὴν τῆς σαρκὸς καθαρότητα,
9:14 ¿cuánto más la sangre de Cristo, el cual mediante el Espíritu eterno se ofreció a sí mismo sin mancha a Dios, limpiará vuestras conciencias de obras muertas para que sirváis al Dios vivo? How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 14 πόσῳ μᾶλλον τὸ αἷμα τοῦ χριστοῦ, ὃς διὰ πνεύματος αἰωνίου ἑαυτὸν προσήνεγκεν ἄμωμον τῶ θεῶ, καθαριεῖ τὴν συνείδησιν ἡμῶν ἀπὸ νεκρῶν ἔργων εἰς τὸ λατρεύειν θεῶ ζῶντι.
9:15 Así que, por eso es mediador de un nuevo pacto, para que interviniendo muerte para la remisión de las transgresiones que había bajo el primer pacto, los llamados reciban la promesa de la herencia eterna. And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 15 καὶ διὰ τοῦτο διαθήκης καινῆς μεσίτης ἐστίν, ὅπως θανάτου γενομένου εἰς ἀπολύτρωσιν τῶν ἐπὶ τῇ πρώτῃ διαθήκῃ παραβάσεων τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν λάβωσιν οἱ κεκλημένοι τῆς αἰωνίου κληρονομίας.
9:16 Porque donde hay testamento, es necesario que intervenga muerte del testador. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 16 ὅπου γὰρ διαθήκη, θάνατον ἀνάγκη φέρεσθαι τοῦ διαθεμένου·
9:17 Porque el testamento con la muerte se confirma; pues no es válido entre tanto que el testador vive. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. 17 διαθήκη γὰρ ἐπὶ νεκροῖς βεβαία, ἐπεὶ μήποτε ἰσχύει ὅτε ζῇ ὁ διαθέμενος.
9:18 De donde ni aun el primer pacto fue instituido sin sangre. Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. 18 ὅθεν οὐδὲ ἡ πρώτη χωρὶς αἵματος ἐγκεκαίνισται·
9:19 Porque habiendo anunciado Moisés todos los mandamientos de la ley a todo el pueblo, tomó la sangre de los becerros y de los machos cabríos, con agua, lana escarlata e hisopo, y roció el mismo libro y también a todo el pueblo, For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, 19 λαληθείσης γὰρ πάσης ἐντολῆς κατὰ τὸν νόμον ὑπὸ μωϊσέως παντὶ τῶ λαῶ, λαβὼν τὸ αἷμα τῶν μόσχων καὶ τῶν τράγων μετὰ ὕδατος καὶ ἐρίου κοκκίνου καὶ ὑσσώπου αὐτό τε τὸ βιβλίον καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν ἐράντισεν,
9:20 diciendo: Esta es la sangre del pacto que Dios os ha mandado. Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. 20 λέγων, τοῦτο τὸ αἷμα τῆς διαθήκης ἧς ἐνετείλατο πρὸς ὑμᾶς ὁ θεός·
9:21 Y además de esto, roció también con la sangre el tabernáculo y todos los vasos del ministerio. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. 21 καὶ τὴν σκηνὴν δὲ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τῆς λειτουργίας τῶ αἵματι ὁμοίως ἐράντισεν.
9:22 Y casi todo es purificado, según la ley, con sangre; y sin derramamiento de sangre no se hace remisión. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. 22 καὶ σχεδὸν ἐν αἵματι πάντα καθαρίζεται κατὰ τὸν νόμον, καὶ χωρὶς αἱματεκχυσίας οὐ γίνεται ἄφεσις.
9:23 Fue, pues, necesario que las figuras de las cosas celestiales fuesen purificadas así; pero las cosas celestiales mismas, con mejores sacrificios que estos. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 23 ἀνάγκη οὗν τὰ μὲν ὑποδείγματα τῶν ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς τούτοις καθαρίζεσθαι, αὐτὰ δὲ τὰ ἐπουράνια κρείττοσιν θυσίαις παρὰ ταύτας.
9:24 Porque no entró Cristo en el santuario hecho de mano, figura del verdadero, sino en el cielo mismo para presentarse ahora por nosotros ante Dios; For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 24 οὐ γὰρ εἰς χειροποίητα εἰσῆλθεν ἅγια χριστός, ἀντίτυπα τῶν ἀληθινῶν, ἀλλ᾽ εἰς αὐτὸν τὸν οὐρανόν, νῦν ἐμφανισθῆναι τῶ προσώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν·
9:25 y no para ofrecerse muchas veces, como entra el sumo sacerdote en el Lugar Santísimo cada año con sangre ajena. Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 25 οὐδ᾽ ἵνα πολλάκις προσφέρῃ ἑαυτόν, ὥσπερ ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς εἰσέρχεται εἰς τὰ ἅγια κατ᾽ ἐνιαυτὸν ἐν αἵματι ἀλλοτρίῳ,
9:26 De otra manera le hubiera sido necesario padecer muchas veces desde el principio del mundo; pero ahora, en la consumación de los siglos, se presentó una vez para siempre por el sacrificio de sí mismo para quitar de en medio el pecado. For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 26 ἐπεὶ ἔδει αὐτὸν πολλάκις παθεῖν ἀπὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου· νυνὶ δὲ ἅπαξ ἐπὶ συντελείᾳ τῶν αἰώνων εἰς ἀθέτησιν τῆς ἁμαρτίας διὰ τῆς θυσίας αὐτοῦ πεφανέρωται.
9:27 Y de la manera que está establecido para los hombres que mueran una sola vez, y después de esto el juicio, And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 27 καὶ καθ᾽ ὅσον ἀπόκειται τοῖς ἀνθρώποις ἅπαξ ἀποθανεῖν, μετὰ δὲ τοῦτο κρίσις,
9:28 así también Cristo fue ofrecido una sola vez para llevar los pecados de muchos; y aparecerá por segunda vez, sin relación con el pecado, para salvar a los que le esperan. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. 28 οὕτως καὶ ὁ χριστός, ἅπαξ προσενεχθεὶς εἰς τὸ πολλῶν ἀνενεγκεῖν ἁμαρτίας, ἐκ δευτέρου χωρὶς ἁμαρτίας ὀφθήσεται τοῖς αὐτὸν ἀπεκδεχομένοις εἰς σωτηρίαν.
10:1 Porque la ley, teniendo la sombra de los bienes venideros, no la imagen misma de las cosas, nunca puede, por los mismos sacrificios que se ofrecen continuamente cada año, hacer perfectos a los que se acercan. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 1 σκιὰν γὰρ ἔχων ὁ νόμος τῶν μελλόντων ἀγαθῶν, οὐκ αὐτὴν τὴν εἰκόνα τῶν πραγμάτων, κατ᾽ ἐνιαυτὸν ταῖς αὐταῖς θυσίαις ἃς προσφέρουσιν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς οὐδέποτε δύναται τοὺς προσερχομένους τελειῶσαι·
10:2 De otra manera cesarían de ofrecerse, pues los que tributan este culto, limpios una vez, no tendrían ya más conciencia de pecado. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 2 ἐπεὶ οὐκ ἂν ἐπαύσαντο προσφερόμεναι, διὰ τὸ μηδεμίαν ἔχειν ἔτι συνείδησιν ἁμαρτιῶν τοὺς λατρεύοντας ἅπαξ κεκαθαρισμένους;
10:3 Pero en estos sacrificios cada año se hace memoria de los pecados; But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 3 ἀλλ᾽ ἐν αὐταῖς ἀνάμνησις ἁμαρτιῶν κατ᾽ ἐνιαυτόν,
10:4 porque la sangre de los toros y de los machos cabríos no puede quitar los pecados. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 4 ἀδύνατον γὰρ αἷμα ταύρων καὶ τράγων ἀφαιρεῖν ἁμαρτίας.
10:5 Por lo cual, entrando en el mundo dice: Sacrificio y ofrenda no quisiste; Mas me preparaste cuerpo. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 5 διὸ εἰσερχόμενος εἰς τὸν κόσμον λέγει, θυσίαν καὶ προσφορὰν οὐκ ἠθέλησας, σῶμα δὲ κατηρτίσω μοι·
10:6 Holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no te agradaron. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. 6 ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ περὶ ἁμαρτίας οὐκ εὐδόκησας.
10:7 Entonces dije: He aquí que vengo, oh Dios, para hacer tu voluntad, Como en el rollo del libro está escrito de mí. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. 7 τότε εἶπον, ἰδοὺ ἥκω, ἐν κεφαλίδι βιβλίου γέγραπται περὶ ἐμοῦ, τοῦ ποιῆσαι, ὁ θεός, τὸ θέλημά σου.
10:8 Diciendo primero: Sacrificio y ofrenda y holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no quisiste, ni te agradaron (las cuales cosas se ofrecen según la ley), Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 8 ἀνώτερον λέγων ὅτι θυσίας καὶ προσφορὰς καὶ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ περὶ ἁμαρτίας οὐκ ἠθέλησας οὐδὲ εὐδόκησας, αἵτινες κατὰ νόμον προσφέρονται,
10:9 y diciendo luego: He aquí que vengo, oh Dios, para hacer tu voluntad; quita lo primero, para establecer esto último. Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 9 τότε εἴρηκεν, ἰδοὺ ἥκω τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ θέλημά σου. ἀναιρεῖ τὸ πρῶτον ἵνα τὸ δεύτερον στήσῃ·
10:10 En esa voluntad somos santificados mediante la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo hecha una vez para siempre. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 10 ἐν ᾧ θελήματι ἡγιασμένοι ἐσμὲν διὰ τῆς προσφορᾶς τοῦ σώματος ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ ἐφάπαξ.
10:11 Y ciertamente todo sacerdote está día tras día ministrando y ofreciendo muchas veces los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados; And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 11 καὶ πᾶς μὲν ἱερεὺς ἕστηκεν καθ᾽ ἡμέραν λειτουργῶν καὶ τὰς αὐτὰς πολλάκις προσφέρων θυσίας, αἵτινες οὐδέποτε δύνανται περιελεῖν ἁμαρτίας.
10:12 pero Cristo, habiendo ofrecido una vez para siempre un solo sacrificio por los pecados, se ha sentado a la diestra de Dios, But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 12 οὖτος δὲ μίαν ὑπὲρ ἁμαρτιῶν προσενέγκας θυσίαν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τοῦ θεοῦ,
10:13 de ahí en adelante esperando hasta que sus enemigos sean puestos por estrado de sus pies; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 13 τὸ λοιπὸν ἐκδεχόμενος ἕως τεθῶσιν οἱ ἐχθροὶ αὐτοῦ ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ·
10:14 porque con una sola ofrenda hizo perfectos para siempre a los santificados. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. 14 μιᾷ γὰρ προσφορᾷ τετελείωκεν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς τοὺς ἁγιαζομένους.
10:15 Y nos atestigua lo mismo el Espíritu Santo; porque después de haber dicho: Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 15 μαρτυρεῖ δὲ ἡμῖν καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον· μετὰ γὰρ τὸ εἰρηκέναι,
10:16 Este es el pacto que haré con ellos Después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: Pondré mis leyes en sus corazones, Y en sus mentes las escribiré, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 16 αὕτη ἡ διαθήκη ἣν διαθήσομαι πρὸς αὐτοὺς μετὰ τὰς ἡμέρας ἐκείνας, λέγει κύριος, διδοὺς νόμους μου ἐπὶ καρδίας αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν διάνοιαν αὐτῶν ἐπιγράψω αὐτούς,
10:17 añade: Y nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados y transgresiones. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 17 καὶ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν καὶ τῶν ἀνομιῶν αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ μνησθήσομαι ἔτι.
10:18 Pues donde hay remisión de éstos, no hay más ofrenda por el pecado. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. 18 ὅπου δὲ ἄφεσις τούτων, οὐκέτι προσφορὰ περὶ ἁμαρτίας.
10:19 Así que, hermanos, teniendo libertad para entrar en el Lugar Santísimo por la sangre de Jesucristo, Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 19 ἔχοντες οὗν, ἀδελφοί, παρρησίαν εἰς τὴν εἴσοδον τῶν ἁγίων ἐν τῶ αἵματι ἰησοῦ,
10:20 por el camino nuevo y vivo que él nos abrió a través del velo, esto es, de su carne, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 20 ἣν ἐνεκαίνισεν ἡμῖν ὁδὸν πρόσφατον καὶ ζῶσαν διὰ τοῦ καταπετάσματος, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ,
10:21 y teniendo un gran sacerdote sobre la casa de Dios, And having an high priest over the house of God; 21 καὶ ἱερέα μέγαν ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ,
10:22 acerquémonos con corazón sincero, en plena certidumbre de fe, purificados los corazones de mala conciencia, y lavados los cuerpos con agua pura. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 22 προσερχώμεθα μετὰ ἀληθινῆς καρδίας ἐν πληροφορίᾳ πίστεως, ῥεραντισμένοι τὰς καρδίας ἀπὸ συνειδήσεως πονηρᾶς καὶ λελουσμένοι τὸ σῶμα ὕδατι καθαρῶ·
10:23 Mantengamos firme, sin fluctuar, la profesión de nuestra esperanza, porque fiel es el que prometió. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 23 κατέχωμεν τὴν ὁμολογίαν τῆς ἐλπίδος ἀκλινῆ, πιστὸς γὰρ ὁ ἐπαγγειλάμενος·
10:24 Y considerémonos unos a otros para estimularnos al amor y a las buenas obras; And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 24 καὶ κατανοῶμεν ἀλλήλους εἰς παροξυσμὸν ἀγάπης καὶ καλῶν ἔργων,
10:25 no dejando de congregarnos, como algunos tienen por costumbre, sino exhortándonos; y tanto más, cuanto veis que aquel día se acerca. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 25 μὴ ἐγκαταλείποντες τὴν ἐπισυναγωγὴν ἑαυτῶν, καθὼς ἔθος τισίν, ἀλλὰ παρακαλοῦντες, καὶ τοσούτῳ μᾶλλον ὅσῳ βλέπετε ἐγγίζουσαν τὴν ἡμέραν.
10:26 Porque si pecáremos voluntariamente después de haber recibido el conocimiento de la verdad, ya no queda más sacrificio por los pecados, For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 26 ἑκουσίως γὰρ ἁμαρτανόντων ἡμῶν μετὰ τὸ λαβεῖν τὴν ἐπίγνωσιν τῆς ἀληθείας, οὐκέτι περὶ ἁμαρτιῶν ἀπολείπεται θυσία,
10:27 sino una horrenda expectación de juicio, y de hervor de fuego que ha de devorar a los adversarios. But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 27 φοβερὰ δέ τις ἐκδοχὴ κρίσεως καὶ πυρὸς ζῆλος ἐσθίειν μέλλοντος τοὺς ὑπεναντίους.
10:28 El que viola la ley de Moisés, por el testimonio de dos o de tres testigos muere irremisiblemente. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 28 ἀθετήσας τις νόμον μωϊσέως χωρὶς οἰκτιρμῶν ἐπὶ δυσὶν ἢ τρισὶν μάρτυσιν ἀποθνῄσκει·
10:29 ¿Cuánto mayor castigo pensáis que merecerá el que pisoteare al Hijo de Dios, y tuviere por inmunda la sangre del pacto en la cual fue santificado, e hiciere afrenta al Espíritu de gracia? Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 29 πόσῳ δοκεῖτε χείρονος ἀξιωθήσεται τιμωρίας ὁ τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ θεοῦ καταπατήσας, καὶ τὸ αἷμα τῆς διαθήκης κοινὸν ἡγησάμενος ἐν ᾧ ἡγιάσθη, καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα τῆς χάριτος ἐνυβρίσας;
10:30 Pues conocemos al que dijo: Mía es la venganza, yo daré el pago, dice el Señor. Y otra vez: El Señor juzgará a su pueblo. For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 30 οἴδαμεν γὰρ τὸν εἰπόντα, ἐμοὶ ἐκδίκησις, ἐγὼ ἀνταποδώσω· καὶ πάλιν, κρινεῖ κύριος τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ.
10:31 ¡Horrenda cosa es caer en manos del Dios vivo! It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. 31 φοβερὸν τὸ ἐμπεσεῖν εἰς χεῖρας θεοῦ ζῶντος.
10:32 Pero traed a la memoria los días pasados, en los cuales, después de haber sido iluminados, sostuvisteis gran combate de padecimientos; But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; 32 ἀναμιμνῄσκεσθε δὲ τὰς πρότερον ἡμέρας, ἐν αἷς φωτισθέντες πολλὴν ἄθλησιν ὑπεμείνατε παθημάτων,
10:33 por una parte, ciertamente, con vituperios y tribulaciones fuisteis hechos espectáculo; y por otra, llegasteis a ser compañeros de los que estaban en una situación semejante. Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. 33 τοῦτο μὲν ὀνειδισμοῖς τε καὶ θλίψεσιν θεατριζόμενοι, τοῦτο δὲ κοινωνοὶ τῶν οὕτως ἀναστρεφομένων γενηθέντες·
10:34 Porque de los presos también os compadecisteis, y el despojo de vuestros bienes sufristeis con gozo, sabiendo que tenéis en vosotros una mejor y perdurable herencia en los cielos. For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance. 34 καὶ γὰρ τοῖς δεσμίοις συνεπαθήσατε, καὶ τὴν ἁρπαγὴν τῶν ὑπαρχόντων ὑμῶν μετὰ χαρᾶς προσεδέξασθε, γινώσκοντες ἔχειν ἑαυτοὺς κρείττονα ὕπαρξιν καὶ μένουσαν.
10:35 No perdáis, pues, vuestra confianza, que tiene grande galardón; Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 35 μὴ ἀποβάλητε οὗν τὴν παρρησίαν ὑμῶν, ἥτις ἔχει μεγάλην μισθαποδοσίαν,
10:36 porque os es necesaria la paciencia, para que habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, obtengáis la promesa. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. 36 ὑπομονῆς γὰρ ἔχετε χρείαν ἵνα τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ ποιήσαντες κομίσησθε τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν.
10:37 Porque aún un poquito, Y el que ha de venir vendrá, y no tardará. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 37 ἔτι γὰρ μικρὸν ὅσον ὅσον, ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἥξει καὶ οὐ χρονίσει·
10:38 Mas el justo vivirá por fe; Y si retrocediere, no agradará a mi alma. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 38 ὁ δὲ δίκαιός μου ἐκ πίστεως ζήσεται, καὶ ἐὰν ὑποστείληται, οὐκ εὐδοκεῖ ἡ ψυχή μου ἐν αὐτῶ.
10:39 Pero nosotros no somos de los que retroceden para perdición, sino de los que tienen fe para preservación del alma. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. 39 ἡμεῖς δὲ οὐκ ἐσμὲν ὑποστολῆς εἰς ἀπώλειαν, ἀλλὰ πίστεως εἰς περιποίησιν ψυχῆς.
11:1 Es, pues, la fe la certeza de lo que se espera, la convicción de lo que no se ve. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 1 ἔστιν δὲ πίστις ἐλπιζομένων ὑπόστασις, πραγμάτων ἔλεγχος οὐ βλεπομένων.
11:2 Porque por ella alcanzaron buen testimonio los antiguos. For by it the elders obtained a good report. 2 ἐν ταύτῃ γὰρ ἐμαρτυρήθησαν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι.
11:3 Por la fe entendemos haber sido constituido el universo por la palabra de Dios, de modo que lo que se ve fue hecho de lo que no se veía. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 3 πίστει νοοῦμεν κατηρτίσθαι τοὺς αἰῶνας ῥήματι θεοῦ, εἰς τὸ μὴ ἐκ φαινομένων τὸ βλεπόμενον γεγονέναι.
11:4 Por la fe Abel ofreció a Dios más excelente sacrificio que Caín, por lo cual alcanzó testimonio de que era justo, dando Dios testimonio de sus ofrendas; y muerto, aún habla por ella. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 4 πίστει πλείονα θυσίαν ἅβελ παρὰ κάϊν προσήνεγκεν τῶ θεῶ, δι᾽ ἧς ἐμαρτυρήθη εἶναι δίκαιος, μαρτυροῦντος ἐπὶ τοῖς δώροις αὐτοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ δι᾽ αὐτῆς ἀποθανὼν ἔτι λαλεῖ.
11:5 Por la fe Enoc fue traspuesto para no ver muerte, y no fue hallado, porque lo traspuso Dios; y antes que fuese traspuesto, tuvo testimonio de haber agradado a Dios. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 5 πίστει ἑνὼχ μετετέθη τοῦ μὴ ἰδεῖν θάνατον, καὶ οὐχ ηὑρίσκετο διότι μετέθηκεν αὐτὸν ὁ θεός· πρὸ γὰρ τῆς μεταθέσεως μεμαρτύρηται εὐαρεστηκέναι τῶ θεῶ,
11:6 Pero sin fe es imposible agradar a Dios; porque es necesario que el que se acerca a Dios crea que le hay, y que es galardonador de los que le buscan. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 6 χωρὶς δὲ πίστεως ἀδύνατον εὐαρεστῆσαι, πιστεῦσαι γὰρ δεῖ τὸν προσερχόμενον τῶ θεῶ ὅτι ἔστιν καὶ τοῖς ἐκζητοῦσιν αὐτὸν μισθαποδότης γίνεται.
11:7 Por la fe Noé, cuando fue advertido por Dios acerca de cosas que aún no se veían, con temor preparó el arca en que su casa se salvase; y por esa fe condenó al mundo, y fue hecho heredero de la justicia que viene por la fe. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. 7 πίστει χρηματισθεὶς νῶε περὶ τῶν μηδέπω βλεπομένων εὐλαβηθεὶς κατεσκεύασεν κιβωτὸν εἰς σωτηρίαν τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ, δι᾽ ἧς κατέκρινεν τὸν κόσμον, καὶ τῆς κατὰ πίστιν δικαιοσύνης ἐγένετο κληρονόμος.
11:8 Por la fe Abraham, siendo llamado, obedeció para salir al lugar que había de recibir como herencia; y salió sin saber a dónde iba. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 8 πίστει καλούμενος ἀβραὰμ ὑπήκουσεν ἐξελθεῖν εἰς τόπον ὃν ἤμελλεν λαμβάνειν εἰς κληρονομίαν, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν μὴ ἐπιστάμενος ποῦ ἔρχεται.
11:9 Por la fe habitó como extranjero en la tierra prometida como en tierra ajena, morando en tiendas con Isaac y Jacob, coherederos de la misma promesa; By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 9 πίστει παρῴκησεν εἰς γῆν τῆς ἐπαγγελίας ὡς ἀλλοτρίαν, ἐν σκηναῖς κατοικήσας μετὰ ἰσαὰκ καὶ ἰακὼβ τῶν συγκληρονόμων τῆς ἐπαγγελίας τῆς αὐτῆς·
11:10 porque esperaba la ciudad que tiene fundamentos, cuyo arquitecto y constructor es Dios. For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 10 ἐξεδέχετο γὰρ τὴν τοὺς θεμελίους ἔχουσαν πόλιν, ἧς τεχνίτης καὶ δημιουργὸς ὁ θεός.
11:11 Por la fe también la misma Sara, siendo estéril, recibió fuerza para concebir; y dio a luz aun fuera del tiempo de la edad, porque creyó que era fiel quien lo había prometido. Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 11 πίστει _ καὶ αὐτὴ σάρρα στεῖρα _ δύναμιν εἰς καταβολὴν σπέρματος ἔλαβεν καὶ παρὰ καιρὸν ἡλικίας, ἐπεὶ πιστὸν ἡγήσατο τὸν ἐπαγγειλάμενον·
11:12 Por lo cual también, de uno, y ése ya casi muerto, salieron como las estrellas del cielo en multitud, y como la arena innumerable que está a la orilla del mar. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. 12 διὸ καὶ ἀφ᾽ ἑνὸς ἐγεννήθησαν, καὶ ταῦτα νενεκρωμένου, καθὼς τὰ ἄστρα τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τῶ πλήθει καὶ ὡς ἡ ἄμμος ἡ παρὰ τὸ χεῖλος τῆς θαλάσσης ἡ ἀναρίθμητος.
11:13 Conforme a la fe murieron todos éstos sin haber recibido lo prometido, sino mirándolo de lejos, y creyéndolo, y saludándolo, y confesando que eran extranjeros y peregrinos sobre la tierra. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 13 κατὰ πίστιν ἀπέθανον οὖτοι πάντες, μὴ λαβόντες τὰς ἐπαγγελίας, ἀλλὰ πόρρωθεν αὐτὰς ἰδόντες καὶ ἀσπασάμενοι, καὶ ὁμολογήσαντες ὅτι ξένοι καὶ παρεπίδημοί εἰσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς·
11:14 Porque los que esto dicen, claramente dan a entender que buscan una patria; For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 14 οἱ γὰρ τοιαῦτα λέγοντες ἐμφανίζουσιν ὅτι πατρίδα ἐπιζητοῦσιν.
11:15 pues si hubiesen estado pensando en aquella de donde salieron, ciertamente tenían tiempo de volver. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 15 καὶ εἰ μὲν ἐκείνης ἐμνημόνευον ἀφ᾽ ἧς ἐξέβησαν, εἶχον ἂν καιρὸν ἀνακάμψαι·
11:16 Pero anhelaban una mejor, esto es, celestial; por lo cual Dios no se avergüenza de llamarse Dios de ellos; porque les ha preparado una ciudad. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. 16 νῦν δὲ κρείττονος ὀρέγονται, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν ἐπουρανίου. διὸ οὐκ ἐπαισχύνεται αὐτοὺς ὁ θεὸς θεὸς ἐπικαλεῖσθαι αὐτῶν, ἡτοίμασεν γὰρ αὐτοῖς πόλιν.
11:17 Por la fe Abraham, cuando fue probado, ofreció a Isaac; y el que había recibido las promesas ofrecía su unigénito, By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 17 πίστει προσενήνοχεν ἀβραὰμ τὸν ἰσαὰκ πειραζόμενος, καὶ τὸν μονογενῆ προσέφερεν ὁ τὰς ἐπαγγελίας ἀναδεξάμενος,
11:18 habiéndosele dicho: En Isaac te será llamada descendencia; Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 18 πρὸς ὃν ἐλαλήθη ὅτι ἐν ἰσαὰκ κληθήσεταί σοι σπέρμα,
11:19 pensando que Dios es poderoso para levantar aun de entre los muertos, de donde, en sentido figurado, también le volvió a recibir. Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. 19 λογισάμενος ὅτι καὶ ἐκ νεκρῶν ἐγείρειν δυνατὸς ὁ θεός· ὅθεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐν παραβολῇ ἐκομίσατο.
11:20 Por la fe bendijo Isaac a Jacob y a Esaú respecto a cosas venideras. By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. 20 πίστει καὶ περὶ μελλόντων εὐλόγησεν ἰσαὰκ τὸν ἰακὼβ καὶ τὸν ἠσαῦ.
11:21 Por la fe Jacob, al morir, bendijo a cada uno de los hijos de José, y adoró apoyado sobre el extremo de su bordón. By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. 21 πίστει ἰακὼβ ἀποθνῄσκων ἕκαστον τῶν υἱῶν ἰωσὴφ εὐλόγησεν, καὶ προσεκύνησεν ἐπὶ τὸ ἄκρον τῆς ῥάβδου αὐτοῦ.
11:22 Por la fe José, al morir, mencionó la salida de los hijos de Israel, y dio mandamiento acerca de sus huesos. By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. 22 πίστει ἰωσὴφ τελευτῶν περὶ τῆς ἐξόδου τῶν υἱῶν ἰσραὴλ ἐμνημόνευσεν, καὶ περὶ τῶν ὀστέων αὐτοῦ ἐνετείλατο.
11:23 Por la fe Moisés, cuando nació, fue escondido por sus padres por tres meses, porque le vieron niño hermoso, y no temieron el decreto del rey. By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. 23 πίστει μωϊσῆς γεννηθεὶς ἐκρύβη τρίμηνον ὑπὸ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ, διότι εἶδον ἀστεῖον τὸ παιδίον, καὶ οὐκ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸ διάταγμα τοῦ βασιλέως.
11:24 Por la fe Moisés, hecho ya grande, rehusó llamarse hijo de la hija de Faraón, By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 24 πίστει μωϊσῆς μέγας γενόμενος ἠρνήσατο λέγεσθαι υἱὸς θυγατρὸς φαραώ,
11:25 escogiendo antes ser maltratado con el pueblo de Dios, que gozar de los deleites temporales del pecado, Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 25 μᾶλλον ἑλόμενος συγκακουχεῖσθαι τῶ λαῶ τοῦ θεοῦ ἢ πρόσκαιρον ἔχειν ἁμαρτίας ἀπόλαυσιν,
11:26 teniendo por mayores riquezas el vituperio de Cristo que los tesoros de los egipcios; porque tenía puesta la mirada en el galardón. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 26 μείζονα πλοῦτον ἡγησάμενος τῶν αἰγύπτου θησαυρῶν τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν τοῦ χριστοῦ, ἀπέβλεπεν γὰρ εἰς τὴν μισθαποδοσίαν.
11:27 Por la fe dejó a Egipto, no temiendo la ira del rey; porque se sostuvo como viendo al Invisible. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 27 πίστει κατέλιπεν αἴγυπτον, μὴ φοβηθεὶς τὸν θυμὸν τοῦ βασιλέως, τὸν γὰρ ἀόρατον ὡς ὁρῶν ἐκαρτέρησεν.
11:28 Por la fe celebró la pascua y la aspersión de la sangre, para que el que destruía a los primogénitos no los tocase a ellos. Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 28 πίστει πεποίηκεν τὸ πάσχα καὶ τὴν πρόσχυσιν τοῦ αἵματος, ἵνα μὴ ὁ ὀλοθρεύων τὰ πρωτότοκα θίγῃ αὐτῶν.
11:29 Por la fe pasaron el Mar Rojo como por tierra seca; e intentando los egipcios hacer lo mismo, fueron ahogados. By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. 29 πίστει διέβησαν τὴν ἐρυθρὰν θάλασσαν ὡς διὰ ξηρᾶς γῆς, ἧς πεῖραν λαβόντες οἱ αἰγύπτιοι κατεπόθησαν.
11:30 Por la fe cayeron los muros de Jericó después de rodearlos siete días. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. 30 πίστει τὰ τείχη ἰεριχὼ ἔπεσαν κυκλωθέντα ἐπὶ ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας.
11:31 Por la fe Rahab la ramera no pereció juntamente con los desobedientes, habiendo recibido a los espías en paz. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. 31 πίστει ῥαὰβ ἡ πόρνη οὐ συναπώλετο τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν, δεξαμένη τοὺς κατασκόπους μετ᾽ εἰρήνης.
11:32 ¿Y qué más digo? Porque el tiempo me faltaría contando de Gedeón, de Barac, de Sansón, de Jefté, de David, así como de Samuel y de los profetas; And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 32 καὶ τί ἔτι λέγω; ἐπιλείψει με γὰρ διηγούμενον ὁ χρόνος περὶ γεδεών, βαράκ, σαμψών, ἰεφθάε, δαυίδ τε καὶ σαμουὴλ καὶ τῶν προφητῶν,
11:33 que por fe conquistaron reinos, hicieron justicia, alcanzaron promesas, taparon bocas de leones, Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 33 οἳ διὰ πίστεως κατηγωνίσαντο βασιλείας, εἰργάσαντο δικαιοσύνην, ἐπέτυχον ἐπαγγελιῶν, ἔφραξαν στόματα λεόντων,
11:34 apagaron fuegos impetuosos, evitaron filo de espada, sacaron fuerzas de debilidad, se hicieron fuertes en batallas, pusieron en fuga ejércitos extranjeros. Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 34 ἔσβεσαν δύναμιν πυρός, ἔφυγον στόματα μαχαίρης, ἐδυναμώθησαν ἀπὸ ἀσθενείας, ἐγενήθησαν ἰσχυροὶ ἐν πολέμῳ, παρεμβολὰς ἔκλιναν ἀλλοτρίων·
11:35 Las mujeres recibieron sus muertos mediante resurrección;mas otros fueron atormentados, no aceptando el rescate, a fin de obtener mejor resurrección. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 35 ἔλαβον γυναῖκες ἐξ ἀναστάσεως τοὺς νεκροὺς αὐτῶν· ἄλλοι δὲ ἐτυμπανίσθησαν, οὐ προσδεξάμενοι τὴν ἀπολύτρωσιν, ἵνα κρείττονος ἀναστάσεως τύχωσιν·
11:36 Otros experimentaron vituperios y azotes, y a más de esto prisiones y cárceles. And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 36 ἕτεροι δὲ ἐμπαιγμῶν καὶ μαστίγων πεῖραν ἔλαβον, ἔτι δὲ δεσμῶν καὶ φυλακῆς·
11:37 Fueron apedreados, aserrados, puestos a prueba, muertos a filo de espada; anduvieron de acá para allá cubiertos de pieles de ovejas y de cabras, pobres, angustiados, maltratados; They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 37 ἐλιθάσθησαν, ἐπρίσθησαν, ἐν φόνῳ μαχαίρης ἀπέθανον, περιῆλθον ἐν μηλωταῖς, ἐν αἰγείοις δέρμασιν, ὑστερούμενοι, θλιβόμενοι, κακουχούμενοι,
11:38 de los cuales el mundo no era digno; errando por los desiertos, por los montes, por las cuevas y por las cavernas de la tierra. (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 38 ὧν οὐκ ἦν ἄξιος ὁ κόσμος, ἐπὶ ἐρημίαις πλανώμενοι καὶ ὄρεσιν καὶ σπηλαίοις καὶ ταῖς ὀπαῖς τῆς γῆς.
11:39 Y todos éstos, aunque alcanzaron buen testimonio mediante la fe, no recibieron lo prometido; And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 39 καὶ οὖτοι πάντες μαρτυρηθέντες διὰ τῆς πίστεως οὐκ ἐκομίσαντο τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν,
11:40 proveyendo Dios alguna cosa mejor para nosotros, para que no fuesen ellos perfeccionados aparte de nosotros. God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. 40 τοῦ θεοῦ περὶ ἡμῶν κρεῖττόν τι προβλεψαμένου, ἵνα μὴ χωρὶς ἡμῶν τελειωθῶσιν.
12:1 Por tanto, nosotros también, teniendo en derredor nuestro tan grande nube de testigos, despojémonos de todo peso y del pecado que nos asedia, y corramos con paciencia la carrera que tenemos por delante, Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 1 τοιγαροῦν καὶ ἡμεῖς, τοσοῦτον ἔχοντες περικείμενον ἡμῖν νέφος μαρτύρων, ὄγκον ἀποθέμενοι πάντα καὶ τὴν εὐπερίστατον ἁμαρτίαν, δι᾽ ὑπομονῆς τρέχωμεν τὸν προκείμενον ἡμῖν ἀγῶνα,
12:2 puestos los ojos en Jesús, el autor y consumador de la fe, el cual por el gozo puesto delante de él sufrió la cruz, menospreciando el oprobio, y se sentó a la diestra del trono de Dios. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 2 ἀφορῶντες εἰς τὸν τῆς πίστεως ἀρχηγὸν καὶ τελειωτὴν ἰησοῦν, ὃς ἀντὶ τῆς προκειμένης αὐτῶ χαρᾶς ὑπέμεινεν σταυρὸν αἰσχύνης καταφρονήσας, ἐν δεξιᾷ τε τοῦ θρόνου τοῦ θεοῦ κεκάθικεν.
12:3 Considerad a aquel que sufrió tal contradicción de pecadores contra sí mismo, para que vuestro ánimo no se canse hasta desmayar. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 3 ἀναλογίσασθε γὰρ τὸν τοιαύτην ὑπομεμενηκότα ὑπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν εἰς ἑαυτὸν ἀντιλογίαν, ἵνα μὴ κάμητε ταῖς ψυχαῖς ὑμῶν ἐκλυόμενοι.
12:4 Porque aún no habéis resistido hasta la sangre, combatiendo contra el pecado; Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 4 οὔπω μέχρις αἵματος ἀντικατέστητε πρὸς τὴν ἁμαρτίαν ἀνταγωνιζόμενοι,
12:5 y habéis ya olvidado la exhortación que como a hijos se os dirige, diciendo: Hijo mío, no menosprecies la disciplina del Señor, Ni desmayes cuando eres reprendido por él; And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 5 καὶ ἐκλέλησθε τῆς παρακλήσεως, ἥτις ὑμῖν ὡς υἱοῖς διαλέγεται, υἱέ μου, μὴ ὀλιγώρει παιδείας κυρίου, μηδὲ ἐκλύου ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐλεγχόμενος·
12:6 Porque el Señor al que ama, disciplina, Y azota a todo el que recibe por hijo. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 6 ὃν γὰρ ἀγαπᾷ κύριος παιδεύει, μαστιγοῖ δὲ πάντα υἱὸν ὃν παραδέχεται.
12:7 Si soportáis la disciplina, Dios os trata como a hijos; porque ¿qué hijo es aquel a quien el padre no disciplina? If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 7 εἰς παιδείαν ὑπομένετε· ὡς υἱοῖς ὑμῖν προσφέρεται ὁ θεός· τίς γὰρ υἱὸς ὃν οὐ παιδεύει πατήρ;
12:8 Pero si se os deja sin disciplina, de la cual todos han sido participantes, entonces sois bastardos, y no hijos. But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 8 εἰ δὲ χωρίς ἐστε παιδείας ἧς μέτοχοι γεγόνασιν πάντες, ἄρα νόθοι καὶ οὐχ υἱοί ἐστε.
12:9 Por otra parte, tuvimos a nuestros padres terrenales que nos disciplinaban, y los venerábamos. ¿Por qué no obedeceremos mucho mejor al Padre de los espíritus, y viviremos? Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 9 εἶτα τοὺς μὲν τῆς σαρκὸς ἡμῶν πατέρας εἴχομεν παιδευτὰς καὶ ἐνετρεπόμεθα· οὐ πολὺ δὲ μᾶλλον ὑποταγησόμεθα τῶ πατρὶ τῶν πνευμάτων καὶ ζήσομεν;
12:10 Y aquéllos, ciertamente por pocos días nos disciplinaban como a ellos les parecía, pero éste para lo que nos es provechoso, para que participemos de su santidad. For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 10 οἱ μὲν γὰρ πρὸς ὀλίγας ἡμέρας κατὰ τὸ δοκοῦν αὐτοῖς ἐπαίδευον, ὁ δὲ ἐπὶ τὸ συμφέρον εἰς τὸ μεταλαβεῖν τῆς ἁγιότητος αὐτοῦ.
12:11 Es verdad que ninguna disciplina al presente parece ser causa de gozo, sino de tristeza; pero después da fruto apacible de justicia a los que en ella han sido ejercitados. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. 11 πᾶσα δὲ παιδεία πρὸς μὲν τὸ παρὸν οὐ δοκεῖ χαρᾶς εἶναι ἀλλὰ λύπης, ὕστερον δὲ καρπὸν εἰρηνικὸν τοῖς δι᾽ αὐτῆς γεγυμνασμένοις ἀποδίδωσιν δικαιοσύνης.
12:12 Por lo cual, levantad las manos caídas y las rodillas paralizadas; Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 12 διὸ τὰς παρειμένας χεῖρας καὶ τὰ παραλελυμένα γόνατα ἀνορθώσατε,
12:13 y haced sendas derechas para vuestros pies, para que lo cojo no se salga del camino, sino que sea sanado. And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. 13 καὶ τροχιὰς ὀρθὰς ποιεῖτε τοῖς ποσὶν ὑμῶν, ἵνα μὴ τὸ χωλὸν ἐκτραπῇ, ἰαθῇ δὲ μᾶλλον.
12:14 Seguid la paz con todos, y la santidad, sin la cual nadie verá al Señor. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 14 εἰρήνην διώκετε μετὰ πάντων, καὶ τὸν ἁγιασμόν, οὖ χωρὶς οὐδεὶς ὄψεται τὸν κύριον,
12:15 Mirad bien, no sea que alguno deje de alcanzar la gracia de Dios; que brotando alguna raíz de amargura, os estorbe, y por ella muchos sean contaminados; Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 15 ἐπισκοποῦντες μή τις ὑστερῶν ἀπὸ τῆς χάριτος τοῦ θεοῦ, μή τις ῥίζα πικρίας ἄνω φύουσα ἐνοχλῇ καὶ δι᾽ αὐτῆς μιανθῶσιν πολλοί,
12:16 no sea que haya algún fornicario, o profano, como Esaú, que por una sola comida vendió su primogenitura. Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 16 μή τις πόρνος ἢ βέβηλος ὡς ἠσαῦ, ὃς ἀντὶ βρώσεως μιᾶς ἀπέδετο τὰ πρωτοτόκια ἑαυτοῦ.
12:17 Porque ya sabéis que aun después, deseando heredar la bendición, fue desechado, y no hubo oportunidad para el arrepentimiento, aunque la procuró con lágrimas. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. 17 ἴστε γὰρ ὅτι καὶ μετέπειτα θέλων κληρονομῆσαι τὴν εὐλογίαν ἀπεδοκιμάσθη, μετανοίας γὰρ τόπον οὐχ εὖρεν, καίπερ μετὰ δακρύων ἐκζητήσας αὐτήν.
12:18 Porque no os habéis acercado al monte que se podía palpar, y que ardía en fuego, a la oscuridad, a las tinieblas y a la tempestad, For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, 18 οὐ γὰρ προσεληλύθατε ψηλαφωμένῳ καὶ κεκαυμένῳ πυρὶ καὶ γνόφῳ καὶ ζόφῳ καὶ θυέλλῃ
12:19 al sonido de la trompeta, y a la voz que hablaba, la cual los que la oyeron rogaron que no se les hablase más, And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: 19 καὶ σάλπιγγος ἤχῳ καὶ φωνῇ ῥημάτων, ἧς οἱ ἀκούσαντες παρῃτήσαντο μὴ προστεθῆναι αὐτοῖς λόγον·
12:20 porque no podían soportar lo que se ordenaba: Si aun una bestia tocare el monte, será apedreada, o pasada con dardo; (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: 20 οὐκ ἔφερον γὰρ τὸ διαστελλόμενον, κἂν θηρίον θίγῃ τοῦ ὄρους, λιθοβοληθήσεται·
12:21 y tan terrible era lo que se veía, que Moisés dijo: Estoy espantado y temblando; And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) 21 καί, οὕτω φοβερὸν ἦν τὸ φανταζόμενον, μωϊσῆς εἶπεν, ἔκφοβός εἰμι καὶ ἔντρομος.
12:22 sino que os habéis acercado al monte de Sion, a la ciudad del Dios vivo, Jerusalén la celestial, a la compañía de muchos millares de ángeles, But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 22 ἀλλὰ προσεληλύθατε σιὼν ὄρει καὶ πόλει θεοῦ ζῶντος, ἰερουσαλὴμ ἐπουρανίῳ, καὶ μυριάσιν ἀγγέλων, πανηγύρει
12:23 a la congregación de los primogénitos que están inscritos en los cielos, a Dios el Juez de todos, a los espíritus de los justos hechos perfectos, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 23 καὶ ἐκκλησίᾳ πρωτοτόκων ἀπογεγραμμένων ἐν οὐρανοῖς, καὶ κριτῇ θεῶ πάντων, καὶ πνεύμασι δικαίων τετελειωμένων,
12:24 a Jesús el Mediador del nuevo pacto, y a la sangre rociada que habla mejor que la de Abel. And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. 24 καὶ διαθήκης νέας μεσίτῃ ἰησοῦ, καὶ αἵματι ῥαντισμοῦ κρεῖττον λαλοῦντι παρὰ τὸν ἅβελ.
12:25 Mirad que no desechéis al que habla. Porque si no escaparon aquellos que desecharon al que los amonestaba en la tierra, mucho menos nosotros, si desecháremos al que amonesta desde los cielos. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: 25 βλέπετε μὴ παραιτήσησθε τὸν λαλοῦντα· εἰ γὰρ ἐκεῖνοι οὐκ ἐξέφυγον ἐπὶ γῆς παραιτησάμενοι τὸν χρηματίζοντα, πολὺ μᾶλλον ἡμεῖς οἱ τὸν ἀπ᾽ οὐρανῶν ἀποστρεφόμενοι·
12:26 La voz del cual conmovió entonces la tierra, pero ahora ha prometido, diciendo: Aún una vez, y conmoveré no solamente la tierra, sino también el cielo. Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. 26 οὖ ἡ φωνὴ τὴν γῆν ἐσάλευσεν τότε, νῦν δὲ ἐπήγγελται λέγων, ἔτι ἅπαξ ἐγὼ σείσω οὐ μόνον τὴν γῆν ἀλλὰ καὶ τὸν οὐρανόν.
12:27 Y esta frase: Aún una vez, indica la remoción de las cosas movibles, como cosas hechas, para que queden las inconmovibles. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 27 τὸ δέ, ἔτι ἅπαξ δηλοῖ τὴν τῶν σαλευομένων μετάθεσιν ὡς πεποιημένων, ἵνα μείνῃ τὰ μὴ σαλευόμενα.
12:28 Así que, recibiendo nosotros un reino inconmovible, tengamos gratitud, y mediante ella sirvamos a Dios agradándole con temor y reverencia; Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 28 διὸ βασιλείαν ἀσάλευτον παραλαμβάνοντες ἔχωμεν χάριν, δι᾽ ἧς λατρεύωμεν εὐαρέστως τῶ θεῶ μετὰ εὐλαβείας καὶ δέους·
12:29 porque nuestro Dios es fuego consumidor. For our God is a consuming fire. 29 καὶ γὰρ ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν πῦρ καταναλίσκον.
13:1 Permanezca el amor fraternal. Let brotherly love continue. 1 ἡ φιλαδελφία μενέτω.
13:2 No os olvidéis de la hospitalidad, porque por ella algunos, sin saberlo, hospedaron ángeles. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. 2 τῆς φιλοξενίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε, διὰ ταύτης γὰρ ἔλαθόν τινες ξενίσαντες ἀγγέλους.
13:3 Acordaos de los presos, como si estuvierais presos juntamente con ellos; y de los maltratados, como que también vosotros mismos estáis en el cuerpo. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. 3 μιμνῄσκεσθε τῶν δεσμίων ὡς συνδεδεμένοι, τῶν κακουχουμένων ὡς καὶ αὐτοὶ ὄντες ἐν σώματι.
13:4 Honroso sea en todos el matrimonio, y el lecho sin mancilla; pero a los fornicarios y a los adúlteros los juzgará Dios. Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. 4 τίμιος ὁ γάμος ἐν πᾶσιν καὶ ἡ κοίτη ἀμίαντος, πόρνους γὰρ καὶ μοιχοὺς κρινεῖ ὁ θεός.
13:5 Sean vuestras costumbres sin avaricia, contentos con lo que tenéis ahora; porque él dijo: No te desampararé, ni te dejaré; Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 5 ἀφιλάργυρος ὁ τρόπος· ἀρκούμενοι τοῖς παροῦσιν· αὐτὸς γὰρ εἴρηκεν, οὐ μή σε ἀνῶ οὐδ᾽ οὐ μή σε ἐγκαταλίπω·
13:6 de manera que podemos decir confiadamente: El Señor es mi ayudador; no temeré Lo que me pueda hacer el hombre. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. 6 ὥστε θαρροῦντας ἡμᾶς λέγειν, κύριος ἐμοὶ βοηθός, καὶ οὐ φοβηθήσομαι· τί ποιήσει μοι ἄνθρωπος;
13:7 Acordaos de vuestros pastores, que os hablaron la palabra de Dios; considerad cuál haya sido el resultado de su conducta, e imitad su fe. Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. 7 μνημονεύετε τῶν ἡγουμένων ὑμῶν, οἵτινες ἐλάλησαν ὑμῖν τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ, ὧν ἀναθεωροῦντες τὴν ἔκβασιν τῆς ἀναστροφῆς μιμεῖσθε τὴν πίστιν.
13:8 Jesucristo es el mismo ayer, y hoy, y por los siglos. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 8 ἰησοῦς χριστὸς ἐχθὲς καὶ σήμερον ὁ αὐτός, καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας.
13:9 No os dejéis llevar de doctrinas diversas y extrañas; porque buena cosa es afirmar el corazón con la gracia, no con viandas, que nunca aprovecharon a los que se han ocupado de ellas. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. 9 διδαχαῖς ποικίλαις καὶ ξέναις μὴ παραφέρεσθε· καλὸν γὰρ χάριτι βεβαιοῦσθαι τὴν καρδίαν, οὐ βρώμασιν, ἐν οἷς οὐκ ὠφελήθησαν οἱ περιπατοῦντες.
13:10 Tenemos un altar, del cual no tienen derecho de comer los que sirven al tabernáculo. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. 10 ἔχομεν θυσιαστήριον ἐξ οὖ φαγεῖν οὐκ ἔχουσιν ἐξουσίαν οἱ τῇ σκηνῇ λατρεύοντες.
13:11 Porque los cuerpos de aquellos animales cuya sangre a causa del pecado es introducida en el santuario por el sumo sacerdote, son quemados fuera del campamento. For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 11 ὧν γὰρ εἰσφέρεται ζῴων τὸ αἷμα περὶ ἁμαρτίας εἰς τὰ ἅγια διὰ τοῦ ἀρχιερέως, τούτων τὰ σώματα κατακαίεται ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς.
13:12 Por lo cual también Jesús, para santificar al pueblo mediante su propia sangre, padeció fuera de la puerta. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 12 διὸ καὶ ἰησοῦς, ἵνα ἁγιάσῃ διὰ τοῦ ἰδίου αἵματος τὸν λαόν, ἔξω τῆς πύλης ἔπαθεν.
13:13 Salgamos, pues, a él, fuera del campamento, llevando su vituperio; Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 13 τοίνυν ἐξερχώμεθα πρὸς αὐτὸν ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς, τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν αὐτοῦ φέροντες·
13:14 porque no tenemos aquí ciudad permanente, sino que buscamos la por venir. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 14 οὐ γὰρ ἔχομεν ὧδε μένουσαν πόλιν, ἀλλὰ τὴν μέλλουσαν ἐπιζητοῦμεν.
13:15 Así que, ofrezcamos siempre a Dios, por medio de él, sacrificio de alabanza, es decir, fruto de labios que confiesan su nombre. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 15 δι᾽ αὐτοῦ οὗν ἀναφέρωμεν θυσίαν αἰνέσεως διὰ παντὸς τῶ θεῶ, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν καρπὸν χειλέων ὁμολογούντων τῶ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ.
13:16 Y de hacer bien y de la ayuda mutua no os olvidéis; porque de tales sacrificios se agrada Dios. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. 16 τῆς δὲ εὐποιΐας καὶ κοινωνίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε, τοιαύταις γὰρ θυσίαις εὐαρεστεῖται ὁ θεός.
13:17 Obedeced a vuestros pastores, y sujetaos a ellos; porque ellos velan por vuestras almas, como quienes han de dar cuenta; para que lo hagan con alegría, y no quejándose, porque esto no os es provechoso. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. 17 πείθεσθε τοῖς ἡγουμένοις ὑμῶν καὶ ὑπείκετε, αὐτοὶ γὰρ ἀγρυπνοῦσιν ὑπὲρ τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν ὡς λόγον ἀποδώσοντες, ἵνα μετὰ χαρᾶς τοῦτο ποιῶσιν καὶ μὴ στενάζοντες, ἀλυσιτελὲς γὰρ ὑμῖν τοῦτο.
13:18 Orad por nosotros; pues confiamos en que tenemos buena conciencia, deseando conducirnos bien en todo. Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. 18 προσεύχεσθε περὶ ἡμῶν, πειθόμεθα γὰρ ὅτι καλὴν συνείδησιν ἔχομεν, ἐν πᾶσιν καλῶς θέλοντες ἀναστρέφεσθαι.
13:19 Y más os ruego que lo hagáis así, para que yo os sea restituido más pronto. But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. 19 περισσοτέρως δὲ παρακαλῶ τοῦτο ποιῆσαι ἵνα τάχιον ἀποκατασταθῶ ὑμῖν.
13:20 Y el Dios de paz que resucitó de los muertos a nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el gran pastor de las ovejas, por la sangre del pacto eterno, Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 20 ὁ δὲ θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης, ὁ ἀναγαγὼν ἐκ νεκρῶν τὸν ποιμένα τῶν προβάτων τὸν μέγαν ἐν αἵματι διαθήκης αἰωνίου, τὸν κύριον ἡμῶν ἰησοῦν,
13:21 os haga aptos en toda obra buena para que hagáis su voluntad, haciendo él en vosotros lo que es agradable delante de él por Jesucristo; al cual sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén. Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 21 καταρτίσαι ὑμᾶς ἐν παντὶ ἀγαθῶ εἰς τὸ ποιῆσαι τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ, ποιῶν ἐν ἡμῖν τὸ εὐάρεστον ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ διὰ ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ, ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων· ἀμήν.
13:22 Os ruego, hermanos, que soportéis la palabra de exhortación, pues os he escrito brevemente. And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words. 22 παρακαλῶ δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, ἀνέχεσθε τοῦ λόγου τῆς παρακλήσεως, καὶ γὰρ διὰ βραχέων ἐπέστειλα ὑμῖν.
13:23 Sabed que está en libertad nuestro hermano Timoteo, con el cual, si viniere pronto, iré a veros. Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you. 23 γινώσκετε τὸν ἀδελφὸν ἡμῶν τιμόθεον ἀπολελυμένον, μεθ᾽ οὖ ἐὰν τάχιον ἔρχηται ὄψομαι ὑμᾶς.
13:24 Saludad a todos vuestros pastores, y a todos los santos. Los de Italia os saludan. Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you. 24 ἀσπάσασθε πάντας τοὺς ἡγουμένους ὑμῶν καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἁγίους. ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς οἱ ἀπὸ τῆς ἰταλίας.
13:25 La gracia sea con todos vosotros. Amén. Grace be with you all. Amen. 25 ἡ χάρις μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν.
