Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: |
1 παῦλος καὶ σιλουανὸς καὶ τιμόθεος τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ θεσσαλονικέων ἐν θεῶ πατρὶ ἡμῶν καὶ κυρίῳ ἰησοῦ χριστῶ· |
| 1:2 Gracia y paz a vosotros, de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. |
Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
2 χάρις ὑμῖν καὶ εἰρήνη ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν καὶ κυρίου ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ. |
| 1:3 Debemos siempre dar gracias a Dios por vosotros, hermanos, como es digno, por cuanto vuestra fe va creciendo, y el amor de todos y cada uno de vosotros abunda para con los demás; |
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; |
3 εὐχαριστεῖν ὀφείλομεν τῶ θεῶ πάντοτε περὶ ὑμῶν, ἀδελφοί, καθὼς ἄξιόν ἐστιν, ὅτι ὑπεραυξάνει ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν καὶ πλεονάζει ἡ ἀγάπη ἑνὸς ἑκάστου πάντων ὑμῶν εἰς ἀλλήλους, |
| 1:4 tanto, que nosotros mismos nos gloriamos de vosotros en las iglesias de Dios, por vuestra paciencia y fe en todas vuestras persecuciones y tribulaciones que soportáis. |
So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: |
4 ὥστε αὐτοὺς ἡμᾶς ἐν ὑμῖν ἐγκαυχᾶσθαι ἐν ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τοῦ θεοῦ ὑπὲρ τῆς ὑπομονῆς ὑμῶν καὶ πίστεως ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς διωγμοῖς ὑμῶν καὶ ταῖς θλίψεσιν αἷς ἀνέχεσθε, |
| 1:5 Esto es demostración del justo juicio de Dios, para que seáis tenidos por dignos del reino de Dios, por el cual asimismo padecéis. |
Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: |
5 ἔνδειγμα τῆς δικαίας κρίσεως τοῦ θεοῦ, εἰς τὸ καταξιωθῆναι ὑμᾶς τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ θεοῦ, ὑπὲρ ἧς καὶ πάσχετε, |
| 1:6 Porque es justo delante de Dios pagar con tribulación a los que os atribulan, |
Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; |
6 εἴπερ δίκαιον παρὰ θεῶ ἀνταποδοῦναι τοῖς θλίβουσιν ὑμᾶς θλῖψιν |
| 1:7 y a vosotros que sois atribulados, daros reposo con nosotros, cuando se manifieste el Señor Jesús desde el cielo con los ángeles de su poder, |
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, |
7 καὶ ὑμῖν τοῖς θλιβομένοις ἄνεσιν μεθ᾽ ἡμῶν ἐν τῇ ἀποκαλύψει τοῦ κυρίου ἰησοῦ ἀπ᾽ οὐρανοῦ μετ᾽ ἀγγέλων δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ |
| 1:8 en llama de fuego, para dar retribución a los que no conocieron a Dios, ni obedecen al evangelio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo; |
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: |
8 ἐν πυρὶ φλογός, διδόντος ἐκδίκησιν τοῖς μὴ εἰδόσιν θεὸν καὶ τοῖς μὴ ὑπακούουσιν τῶ εὐαγγελίῳ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ, |
| 1:9 los cuales sufrirán pena de eterna perdición, excluidos de la presencia del Señor y de la gloria de su poder, |
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; |
9 οἵτινες δίκην τίσουσιν ὄλεθρον αἰώνιον ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ κυρίου καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς δόξης τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ, |
| 1:10 cuando venga en aquel día para ser glorificado en sus santos y ser admirado en todos los que creyeron (por cuanto nuestro testimonio ha sido creído entre vosotros). |
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. |
10 ὅταν ἔλθῃ ἐνδοξασθῆναι ἐν τοῖς ἁγίοις αὐτοῦ καὶ θαυμασθῆναι ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς πιστεύσασιν, ὅτι ἐπιστεύθη τὸ μαρτύριον ἡμῶν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς, ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ. |
| 1:11 Por lo cual asimismo oramos siempre por vosotros, para que nuestro Dios os tenga por dignos de su llamamiento, y cumpla todo propósito de bondad y toda obra de fe con su poder, |
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: |
11 εἰς ὃ καὶ προσευχόμεθα πάντοτε περὶ ὑμῶν, ἵνα ὑμᾶς ἀξιώσῃ τῆς κλήσεως ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν καὶ πληρώσῃ πᾶσαν εὐδοκίαν ἀγαθωσύνης καὶ ἔργον πίστεως ἐν δυνάμει, |
| 1:12 para que el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea glorificado en vosotros, y vosotros en él, por la gracia de nuestro Dios y del Señor Jesucristo. |
That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
12 ὅπως ἐνδοξασθῇ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ ἐν ὑμῖν, καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐν αὐτῶ, κατὰ τὴν χάριν τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν καὶ κυρίου ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ. |
| 2:1 Pero con respecto a la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, y nuestra reunión con él, os rogamos, hermanos, |
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, |
1 ἐρωτῶμεν δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, ὑπὲρ τῆς παρουσίας τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ καὶ ἡμῶν ἐπισυναγωγῆς ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν, |
| 2:2 que no os dejéis mover fácilmente de vuestro modo de pensar, ni os conturbéis, ni por espíritu, ni por palabra, ni por carta como si fuera nuestra, en el sentido de que el día del Señor está cerca. |
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. |
2 εἰς τὸ μὴ ταχέως σαλευθῆναι ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ τοῦ νοὸς μηδὲ θροεῖσθαι μήτε διὰ πνεύματος μήτε διὰ λόγου μήτε δι᾽ ἐπιστολῆς ὡς δι᾽ ἡμῶν, ὡς ὅτι ἐνέστηκεν ἡ ἡμέρα τοῦ κυρίου. |
| 2:3 Nadie os engañe en ninguna manera; porque no vendrá sin que antes venga la apostasía, y se manifieste el hombre de pecado, el hijo de perdición, |
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; |
3 μή τις ὑμᾶς ἐξαπατήσῃ κατὰ μηδένα τρόπον· ὅτι ἐὰν μὴ ἔλθῃ ἡ ἀποστασία πρῶτον καὶ ἀποκαλυφθῇ ὁ ἄνθρωπος τῆς ἀνομίας, ὁ υἱὸς τῆς ἀπωλείας, |
| 2:4 el cual se opone y se levanta contra todo lo que se llama Dios o es objeto de culto; tanto que se sienta en el templo de Dios como Dios, haciéndose pasar por Dios. |
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. |
4 ὁ ἀντικείμενος καὶ ὑπεραιρόμενος ἐπὶ πάντα λεγόμενον θεὸν ἢ σέβασμα, ὥστε αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν ναὸν τοῦ θεοῦ καθίσαι, ἀποδεικνύντα ἑαυτὸν ὅτι ἔστιν θεός. |
| 2:5 ¿No os acordáis que cuando yo estaba todavía con vosotros, os decía esto? |
Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? |
5 οὐ μνημονεύετε ὅτι ἔτι ὢν πρὸς ὑμᾶς ταῦτα ἔλεγον ὑμῖν; |
| 2:6 Y ahora vosotros sabéis lo que lo detiene, a fin de que a su debido tiempo se manifieste. |
And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. |
6 καὶ νῦν τὸ κατέχον οἴδατε, εἰς τὸ ἀποκαλυφθῆναι αὐτὸν ἐν τῶ ἑαυτοῦ καιρῶ. |
| 2:7 Porque ya está en acción el misterio de la iniquidad; sólo que hay quien al presente lo detiene, hasta que él a su vez sea quitado de en medio. |
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. |
7 τὸ γὰρ μυστήριον ἤδη ἐνεργεῖται τῆς ἀνομίας· μόνον ὁ κατέχων ἄρτι ἕως ἐκ μέσου γένηται. |
| 2:8 Y entonces se manifestará aquel inicuo, a quien el Señor matará con el espíritu de su boca, y destruirá con el resplandor de su venida; |
And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: |
8 καὶ τότε ἀποκαλυφθήσεται ὁ ἄνομος, ὃν ὁ κύριος ἰησοῦς ἀνελεῖ τῶ πνεύματι τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ καὶ καταργήσει τῇ ἐπιφανείᾳ τῆς παρουσίας αὐτοῦ, |
| 2:9 inicuo cuyo advenimiento es por obra de Satanás, con gran poder y señales y prodigios mentirosos, |
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, |
9 οὖ ἐστιν ἡ παρουσία κατ᾽ ἐνέργειαν τοῦ σατανᾶ ἐν πάσῃ δυνάμει καὶ σημείοις καὶ τέρασιν ψεύδους |
| 2:10 y con todo engaño de iniquidad para los que se pierden, por cuanto no recibieron el amor de la verdad para ser salvos. |
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. |
10 καὶ ἐν πάσῃ ἀπάτῃ ἀδικίας τοῖς ἀπολλυμένοις, ἀνθ᾽ ὧν τὴν ἀγάπην τῆς ἀληθείας οὐκ ἐδέξαντο εἰς τὸ σωθῆναι αὐτούς. |
| 2:11 Por esto Dios les envía un poder engañoso, para que crean la mentira, |
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: |
11 καὶ διὰ τοῦτο πέμπει αὐτοῖς ὁ θεὸς ἐνέργειαν πλάνης εἰς τὸ πιστεῦσαι αὐτοὺς τῶ ψεύδει, |
| 2:12 a fin de que sean condenados todos los que no creyeron a la verdad, sino que se complacieron en la injusticia. |
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. |
12 ἵνα κριθῶσιν πάντες οἱ μὴ πιστεύσαντες τῇ ἀληθείᾳ ἀλλὰ εὐδοκήσαντες τῇ ἀδικίᾳ. |
| 2:13 Pero nosotros debemos dar siempre gracias a Dios respecto a vosotros, hermanos amados por el Señor, de que Dios os haya escogido desde el principio para salvación, mediante la santificación por el Espíritu y la fe en la verdad, |
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: |
13 ἡμεῖς δὲ ὀφείλομεν εὐχαριστεῖν τῶ θεῶ πάντοτε περὶ ὑμῶν, ἀδελφοὶ ἠγαπημένοι ὑπὸ κυρίου, ὅτι εἵλατο ὑμᾶς ὁ θεὸς ἀπαρχὴν εἰς σωτηρίαν ἐν ἁγιασμῶ πνεύματος καὶ πίστει ἀληθείας, |
| 2:14 a lo cual os llamó mediante nuestro evangelio, para alcanzar la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. |
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
14 εἰς ὃ καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὑμᾶς διὰ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου ἡμῶν, εἰς περιποίησιν δόξης τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ. |
| 2:15 Así que, hermanos, estad firmes, y retened la doctrina que habéis aprendido, sea por palabra, o por carta nuestra. |
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. |
15 ἄρα οὗν, ἀδελφοί, στήκετε, καὶ κρατεῖτε τὰς παραδόσεις ἃς ἐδιδάχθητε εἴτε διὰ λόγου εἴτε δι᾽ ἐπιστολῆς ἡμῶν. |
| 2:16 Y el mismo Jesucristo Señor nuestro, y Dios nuestro Padre, el cual nos amó y nos dio consolación eterna y buena esperanza por gracia, |
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, |
16 αὐτὸς δὲ ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν ἰησοῦς χριστὸς καὶ ὁ θεὸς ὁ πατὴρ ἡμῶν, ὁ ἀγαπήσας ἡμᾶς καὶ δοὺς παράκλησιν αἰωνίαν καὶ ἐλπίδα ἀγαθὴν ἐν χάριτι, |
| 2:17 conforte vuestros corazones, y os confirme en toda buena palabra y obra. |
Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. |
17 παρακαλέσαι ὑμῶν τὰς καρδίας καὶ στηρίξαι ἐν παντὶ ἔργῳ καὶ λόγῳ ἀγαθῶ. |
| 3:1 Por lo demás, hermanos, orad por nosotros, para que la palabra del Señor corra y sea glorificada, así como lo fue entre vosotros, |
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: |
1 τὸ λοιπὸν προσεύχεσθε, ἀδελφοί, περὶ ἡμῶν, ἵνα ὁ λόγος τοῦ κυρίου τρέχῃ καὶ δοξάζηται καθὼς καὶ πρὸς ὑμᾶς, |
| 3:2 y para que seamos librados de hombres perversos y malos; porque no es de todos la fe. |
And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. |
2 καὶ ἵνα ῥυσθῶμεν ἀπὸ τῶν ἀτόπων καὶ πονηρῶν ἀνθρώπων· οὐ γὰρ πάντων ἡ πίστις. |
| 3:3 Pero fiel es el Señor, que os afirmará y guardará del mal. |
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. |
3 πιστὸς δέ ἐστιν ὁ κύριος, ὃς στηρίξει ὑμᾶς καὶ φυλάξει ἀπὸ τοῦ πονηροῦ. |
| 3:4 Y tenemos confianza respecto a vosotros en el Señor, en que hacéis y haréis lo que os hemos mandado. |
And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. |
4 πεποίθαμεν δὲ ἐν κυρίῳ ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς, ὅτι ἃ παραγγέλλομεν καὶ ποιεῖτε καὶ ποιήσετε. |
| 3:5 Y el Señor encamine vuestros corazones al amor de Dios, y a la paciencia de Cristo. |
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. |
5 ὁ δὲ κύριος κατευθύναι ὑμῶν τὰς καρδίας εἰς τὴν ἀγάπην τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ εἰς τὴν ὑπομονὴν τοῦ χριστοῦ. |
| 3:6 Pero os ordenamos, hermanos, en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que os apartéis de todo hermano que ande desordenadamente, y no según la enseñanza que recibisteis de nosotros. |
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. |
6 παραγγέλλομεν δὲ ὑμῖν, ἀδελφοί, ἐν ὀνόματι τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ, στέλλεσθαι ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ παντὸς ἀδελφοῦ ἀτάκτως περιπατοῦντος καὶ μὴ κατὰ τὴν παράδοσιν ἣν παρελάβοσαν παρ᾽ ἡμῶν. |
| 3:7 Porque vosotros mismos sabéis de qué manera debéis imitarnos; pues nosotros no anduvimos desordenadamente entre vosotros, |
For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; |
7 αὐτοὶ γὰρ οἴδατε πῶς δεῖ μιμεῖσθαι ἡμᾶς, ὅτι οὐκ ἠτακτήσαμεν ἐν ὑμῖν |
| 3:8 ni comimos de balde el pan de nadie, sino que trabajamos con afán y fatiga día y noche, para no ser gravosos a ninguno de vosotros; |
Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: |
8 οὐδὲ δωρεὰν ἄρτον ἐφάγομεν παρά τινος, ἀλλ᾽ ἐν κόπῳ καὶ μόχθῳ νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας ἐργαζόμενοι πρὸς τὸ μὴ ἐπιβαρῆσαί τινα ὑμῶν· |
| 3:9 no porque no tuviésemos derecho, sino por daros nosotros mismos un ejemplo para que nos imitaseis. |
Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. |
9 οὐχ ὅτι οὐκ ἔχομεν ἐξουσίαν, ἀλλ᾽ ἵνα ἑαυτοὺς τύπον δῶμεν ὑμῖν εἰς τὸ μιμεῖσθαι ἡμᾶς. |
| 3:10 Porque también cuando estábamos con vosotros, os ordenábamos esto: Si alguno no quiere trabajar, tampoco coma. |
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. |
10 καὶ γὰρ ὅτε ἦμεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς, τοῦτο παρηγγέλλομεν ὑμῖν, ὅτι εἴ τις οὐ θέλει ἐργάζεσθαι μηδὲ ἐσθιέτω. |
| 3:11 Porque oímos que algunos de entre vosotros andan desordenadamente, no trabajando en nada, sino entremetiéndose en lo ajeno. |
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. |
11 ἀκούομεν γάρ τινας περιπατοῦντας ἐν ὑμῖν ἀτάκτως, μηδὲν ἐργαζομένους ἀλλὰ περιεργαζομένους· |
| 3:12 A los tales mandamos y exhortamos por nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que trabajando sosegadamente, coman su propio pan. |
Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. |
12 τοῖς δὲ τοιούτοις παραγγέλλομεν καὶ παρακαλοῦμεν ἐν κυρίῳ ἰησοῦ χριστῶ ἵνα μετὰ ἡσυχίας ἐργαζόμενοι τὸν ἑαυτῶν ἄρτον ἐσθίωσιν. |
| 3:13 Y vosotros, hermanos, no os canséis de hacer bien. |
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. |
13 ὑμεῖς δέ, ἀδελφοί, μὴ ἐγκακήσητε καλοποιοῦντες. |
| 3:14 Si alguno no obedece a lo que decimos por medio de esta carta, a ése señaladlo, y no os juntéis con él, para que se avergüence. |
And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. |
14 εἰ δέ τις οὐχ ὑπακούει τῶ λόγῳ ἡμῶν διὰ τῆς ἐπιστολῆς, τοῦτον σημειοῦσθε, μὴ συναναμίγνυσθαι αὐτῶ, ἵνα ἐντραπῇ· |
| 3:15 Mas no lo tengáis por enemigo, sino amonestadle como a hermano. |
Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. |
15 καὶ μὴ ὡς ἐχθρὸν ἡγεῖσθε, ἀλλὰ νουθετεῖτε ὡς ἀδελφόν. |
| 3:16 Y el mismo Señor de paz os dé siempre paz en toda manera. El Señor sea con todos vosotros. |
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. |
16 αὐτὸς δὲ ὁ κύριος τῆς εἰρήνης δῴη ὑμῖν τὴν εἰρήνην διὰ παντὸς ἐν παντὶ τρόπῳ. ὁ κύριος μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν. |
| 3:17 La salutación es de mi propia mano, de Pablo, que es el signo en toda carta mía; así escribo. |
The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write. |
17 ὁ ἀσπασμὸς τῇ ἐμῇ χειρὶ παύλου, ὅ ἐστιν σημεῖον ἐν πάσῃ ἐπιστολῇ· οὕτως γράφω. |
| 3:18 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con todos vosotros. Amén. |
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. |
18 ἡ χάρις τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν. |
